$70 to repair?

That's a fantastic price.

I, er, um, sort of, er, um , accidentally scraped the wife's front wheel whilst relocating her brand new Mazda 6 sports.....

she was NOT HAPPY!

Funny thing was, it's usually her that causes the mishaps.

She wanted me to get a replacement....

At $520 for a new rim from Mazda Spares, I think NOT.

Tried Adelaide Wheel and Rim, on South Road, but they said they would have to machine the rim to remove the scrape, and repaint it, at a cost of $150.

Problem here, is , if they machine the scrape out, the rim would be slightly different to the others. She's not happy about that.

Still deciding what to do......

Is there anyone in Adelaide that can repair alloy wheels for that sort of price? ($70 ?)

If not in Adelaide, what about in Melbourne. Usually drive down to Mexico several times a year during the footy season. If they can do a fix within a few days turn-around, that would also be an option.

As to the XR6T's rims, I have scuffed the 2 outer rims when I "lost" it under some mild accelleration when I first hit the throttle on a moist road with PH2 kit.... oops!

Not bad enough to worry about.

The bigger problem was wiping the brown stains from the driver's seat.

cheers

tom

Yes, I think the damage was actually caused by the complete front suspension assembly rolling around in the boot with them. $70 should see them as good as new though!

Trent.

Careful, or you won't get your CD or DVD.

(and the rims are still in my garage, 7 months after the car has gone)

I don't think $70 will get the buckles out.
