Just got xr6t Ute very happy until the following happened. :wavey:

I started the car this morning and it started making a clunking metal sound, then it sounded like lifters making a sound like pumping oil, it did this for about 5 minutes until I touch the gas pedal. The sound seem to go away, Then the diff started to clunk. I had heard about the diff but the engine making this sound.

• Motor sound

• Scratched dash prior delivery

• Rear tray Ute skewed to the right. You can slide your hand between the tray and the cab chassis on one side and on the other side lucky to get the tip of your fingers in.

• Right side of rear bumper bar out by about 1.5 cm other side sits flush

Front bonnet .3mm gap on one side the other about 1.2cm

• Passenger side door strip bubbles under the paint could be the surface was contaminated when it was painted

Your feedback would be appreciated. The cars only done 600k's and already having dramas

Still not good enough for a brand new car :spoton: , it does seem a bit hit and miss to get one without any problems. Back to the dealer and hopefully they sort out everything quickly for you

Shockwavexr6t,

Your engine clunking sound, the injectors do make a dry lifter "tic"...?

Could it be more of a rattling noise? that's how mine sounded when the drive belt tensioner "went", cause as the service guy told me, "they go quite often", hmmmm, more bulls hite!

As for the rest of the problems, get straight back to the dealer, I think you normally get until the 3k service to get allignment issues fixed for free.

But consider this, what else are they going to damage in the process???

Is it really worth fixing.

Sounds like a car made on a Friday arvo or Monday morning...

Id put them all on the list for adressing at your 3000km service. Find a good service agent and I am sure they will addrss them.

If they say "its within Ford standards" ask for written documentation showing what the standard is.

Your panels being so badly fitted does not sound acceptable.

Re the engine thing, if its a worry, go see your local service place and get them to hear it and comment. Better to get them to see it before something goes wrong in a big way. (Unlikely, but if you are concerned, better to be sure). I get light tapping/ticking from my engine. Both on my first and new T. Apparently normal injector noise.

sounds like ford quality control at its best again  :spoton:

what he said.

I've been back about 5 or 6 times now, all for different problems. Mine's done just over 8000km.

Dave.
