Cool thanks. My dealer was really good about it. They heard it straight away and have been "trying" ever since.

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

Got the car back yesterday and the report they gave me just says "retorque and lube suspension". But I recall him saying that it was related to the BHP steel beam under the engine being loose and casuing the knocking sound.

Not much good eh? But I didn't hear the noise at all today and prior to them touching the car the same driving would have had the noise show up many times! About time they did something right!

Not sure where you go, maybe the same dealer car sort yours out? PM me if you want the name.

Yeah mine too has that same  noise. It goes away when I shut the windows just like the squeek squeek of the brakes once they get hot...

Brakes never used to squeak when they where made of asbestos, darn cancers!

Guy straight away said, yeh there are some washers/shims or something like that, so we'll see how that goes. If they fix it, I'll report back

Hi all,

Was talking to a cabbie the other night, asking of problems with his BA fairlane, he mentioned "the clunk".

Said it was fixed during a service when the dealer shimmed the steering rack.

So there's something obviously in the rack adjustment/allignment area.

Cheers

Hi all,

I've had my T in the dealer about 5 times now with a steering clunk that comes Intermittently through the steering. They have several other MKII T's with this problem.

Occurs over bumps (when the front suspension changes up and down with a turned wheel), or just turning the steering wheel when parking.

Has anyone else experienced a steering clunk and had it fixed? Or similar problem?

Any input would be appreciated. The dealer has rung Ford today and requested assistance for a fix.

Thanks.
