Guest xr6t mayhem Guests Posted 24/04/03 11:25 AM Share Posted 24/04/03 11:25 AM Hi guys,My first post here, but I'd like to begin by saying Congrats on a fantastic site, just awesome.Secondly, today I picked up my new XR6 Turbo, basically bought over the phone, without even seeing it, let alone test driving it!! But after driving it home, it's Bloody Awesome, everything I have read in the magazines, and indeed in this forum. In no small way this forum convinced me to part with the bikkies!!However, I have a (self inflicted) problem. After forgetting to take some CDs with me for the ride home, I got back here and decided to stick in a CD (without reading the manual on the Premium Sound system.) So I turned the car on, and pushed the Cd into the slot, waiting for the player to accept the disc. Before I realised, I had pushed the Cd into the player, making it impossible to get it back out. Now the player is saying that there is 'No Disc', yet I can't put another one in there. After reading the manual, I now know what I did wrong, but my problem is, how do I get the CD back out? Has anyone else done this, and if so, what was the solution, if any? Or am I the only goose to have F#cked up? The more I think about it, the more sh!thouse I feel. What a **** I am. :( Thanks in advance. Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/1745-new-xr6t-today/ Share on other sites

I wold call a ford dealer and ask how much to fix it: they have probably seen enough to know a set price to quote. Main hope is that it doesnt require the dash to be pulled off! (If I had to guess there is a button combo they press that spits it out)If the eject button doesnt work, try to proper CD loading routing and you may be lucky and it may spit out the disc. DONT insert another disc...it wont help things and may really jam it up. I guess what is annoying is a) they should have told you about it as its a hazard even if you did buy it over the phone they should have talked you through your soon to arrive car for a few mins, and B) why doesnt it have a little internal lip thing that sticks up inside it and prevents anything being added unless its in the proper load CD mode??!!Good luck, and let us know how it goes. Guest xr6t mayhem Guests Posted 24/04/03 12:13 PM Share Posted 24/04/03 12:13 PM Thanx,The dealer showed me pretty much everything else that opens and shuts, just not the damn CD player. D'oh! The biggest pain is the fact that tomorrow is a public holiday, so it's gunna be at least Monday before I can start listening to CDs. And there's the small part of breaking the news to She Who Must Be Obeyed, who I convinced to sell her Calais for the Ford. *Think of a happy place, Think of a happy place* Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/1745-new-xr6t-today/#findComment-18806 Share on other sites

Bad news is the dealer has to take the unit out of the car and send it away - so expect to be without it for a while. It has happened to a couple of people here.I agree that when something that is as critical as the loading of CDs into this unit seems to be, that a sticker should be placed over the face of the unit warning the user of the procedure - not everyone reads the book before using the car.Anyhow, best thing to do is just drive your car, and then drive it some more, and more. You'll forget about not having a cd player ... Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/1745-new-xr6t-today/#findComment-18863 Share on other sites

XR6TK1W1 Member 435 Member For: 22y 1m 8d Location: Wellington NZ Posted 25/04/03 07:04 AM Share Posted 25/04/03 07:04 AM Man what a bugger! I was not told the procedure when I got mine and after trying to insert a disc the unit beeped and wouldn't let me get it in. If I was going to get it in I would have to push it really hard. Maybe there was a prob with the unit in the first place, and this is how it was able to be inserted. Just try pushing all the buttons and see what happens. Surely it must see a disc in there if one is present? Good luck mate!!
