So why arent the plugs gaped to this dimension from factory. But dosnt making the gap smaller mean the spark is smaller, making less power.

:fool::msm::msm::tease:

Because the FACTORY TUNE doesn't require the plugs to be at that spec.

I'll bet when you ring the retailer you purchased the edit from they will tell you that the problem must be with your car. That's what Herrod's do!

2 Words - CUSTOM TUNE.

2 more words - shouldn't needit.............. ok 3 words!

I was told you don't need custom tune and you only need the custom tune if you have a modified car, or you want to squeeze everything out of it. Oh an what do you do if you don't live in a capital city, and don't have a fitter?

I would throw my hat down to anyone that could produce a map that would cater for 100,000+ motors and have them all run well.... If you knew a tuner that could do that he wouldn't be tuning fords.. Most people I know that have boufght the edit are reasonably happy, there is some unhappy donks though..... Dont give up, your next holiday would have to be planned around a tuning and for $300 - $400 is not a lot to ask for the performance you are after and will probably get.... Dont push it hard if it aint running right,,, Or you will have a bigger resentment when it dont go at all....

made more power in my case... dont know the answer to the factory question... maybe someone more techinically minded can answer that one,

Higher Boost, more pressure, high the dielectric of the air fuel mix.

Higher Dielectric, less distance spark can jump... Bad ignition.

Smaller Gap, better spark, good ignition.

Wrong Information Sorry

Hmm I think they are called Ford!

Anyone who is happy to download a bunch of software produced by a third party and sticks it in their car assuming all will be well without having it carefully analysed and tuned deserves what they get, hat or no hat.

Just gaped my plugs to .88 It is alot better but I wouldnt say its 100%. It dosnt have those big surges like it used to and the boost is a bit more stable. On full throttle it does have little surges which pulsate on and off, could this be my injectors maxing out or my springs. The boost sits more on 10psi now but still tends to spike to about 12psi for a second. Oh well looks like custom tune, the only place I really feel confident to take it to is C&V, but they charge $600 for a custom tune :blink:

If it was the middle of summer, I would say that your intercooler couldnt keep up and hence the slight surging... but as the temperature is already a bit lower I would say your injectors are maxing out :glad:

Thanks for all the feedback Jetute. So if my injectors are maxing out is it going to be worth going for a custom tune (with standard injectors and springs as I cant afford that right now). I mean I dont want to pay all that money for a CT and not have much difference in power.
