Do you not turn the CB off when you get out of the car? If you don't then it IS enough to drain your battery in a couple of days.

Next trip down the coast I'll rewire it for you through your accessories circuit and fit a relay if you want :spoton:

Thanks everyone for your help, I'm tryign a couple of suggestions here over the next week. Will let you know how I go :)

To note, the CB is always turned off, only turn it on when I go hwy. The stadium lighting is on a relay and wouldn't effect it what so ever.

May be and maybe not, but check that the cables from the alternator are not loose. I had this shortly after I got mine and this was the problem as the battery wasn't charging. This was a seperate problem to the lose earth strap.

Alex (YCL) gratiously came around today and had a look at the problem.

We disconnected the CB, Lights, Bluetooth Car Kit and there was still something drawing power. Up to 400mw (or was it 400amps?) when the car was off.

Dropped back a couple of times to 200 - 250 which is ok.

So we couldn't find the culprit although Alex had a few theories which I will try out over the next week. If they're not it I'll mention it to Ford at my 45k service.

Thanks everyone for their help :spoton:

That'd be 400 milli amps (Approx 1/2 Amp).

I would say that is too much for a keyed off car.

Try removing fuses till you find what sucking.

BTW, 13.2V @ 400ma = 6 Watts of Load.

Did that. disconnected all Cro's extra crap.

The car draws a few amps until the interior lights dim them drops to about 450mA then, a few seconds after that it drops to under 200mA, but sometimes it stays at about 490mA.

We then pulled the fuses to the interior lights and the mobile phone.

The base load for the car is just under 200mA but sometimes, a relay or something in the car remains on and keeps it at about 490mA.

I suspect its something to do with the colour of the car... :spoton:

Have you checked the boot light ?

It could also be the amp.

I agree with CSI, pull fuses until it stops

Scotty, but he helped me...he's allowed just one stab at the colour..

Good thinking on the Amp Zap, I'll be chucking out fuses till I find the culprit. Will buy a multimeter to make it easier and quicker though :)

PS, The boot light and glove box lights turn off.
