jnr,

Each of the problems listed can be fixed. None of them are serious (except the stalling).

I would suggest you find another dealer as it seems to make a great difference.

You may also find it easier to do the fiddly bits yourself so you will be happy with the result. I only let Ford fix things that are phyisically broken or cannot be fixed by myself. I find that the job is done properly if I do it myself.

All this with a new car???

Huh, fair enough if these problems where with every car, but these problems are kind of petty for instance the rattle in the heat shield!! My car had this and I took it into ford it got tightened up and presto, problem solved!!

And OMG you light globe blew!! Quick sell your car!!!

Mine never had steering shudder, But brake shudder was quite bad!!

Loose intercooler piping for me only because noticable when phase was installed.

The stalling issue isn't good but lucky for me I never had that problem!!

I'm over whinging about the quality of mass produced cars. IMO, that's what warranty is for. :spoton:

My mate spent $165K on a new Merc and they couldnt even get his mobile phone to work in the factory car kit properly. All manufacturers have problems and I think some people expect too much.

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

Why should this be a regular topic on this site??? I thought this site was here because we loved these cars, I think HoldenForum.com.au (or a site of a similar name eg letsbagfordout.com) would be a more appropriate place for a topic like this... Just tell us about the things that have gone wrong when you want to find out how to get them fixed, not just to nitpick...

jnr,

I agree that in a perfect world there should be no problems with a new car, but I think every new car in the world would have a fault or two.

My car has had everything you listed + Driveline clunk and surging.

The Stalling can be fixed with a ECU flash, the powersteering can be fixed by a new hose and the heatshield can be fixed by either hoseclamps or tightning the bolts.

While I got angry at Ford over the average quality, at the end of the day, there is not much choice in the price/performance of a XR6T that would be any better.

There are also people out there with MUCH worse "normal" problems than yourself.

Try to enjoy the car and get the items fixed under warranty, if your dealer is not helpful, find another that is :censored:

Or, if I am to understand jnr's signature (which has been removed some time today) then he has already sold his XR6T ute and purchased a 2004 WRX.

Is this correct?
