I have complained about not wanting a xr6T anymore cause of the amount of problems I have had...but the replies to my b**ching on this site has spurred me on to keep at dealer to get it fixed...then maybe I will keep my snout out of the Expensive Daewoo trough !

Anyway, when running the car around town at 40 to 60 k's or when the car is not overly warm...when I accelerate hard the car farts and feels as if it is stalling or backfiring, yet there is no skidding of tyres or any need for it to be stalling or farting. I have driven it with several unknowlegeable ford service guys in the car, there answer is...it is the traction control kicking in and this is what they do. They have had it in the work shop twice for two days and cannot find a thing wrong.

They now say run it all the time with traction control off and if the problem persists then bring it back and we will look at it again.

Unfortunately I know nothing mechanically about cars, apart from the fact that the car was not doing this 3 months ago, and it simply is not right.

Has any one experienced this problem before and also can anyone advise me that if you floor the acclerator on a dry piece of road when driving at 40 ks' an hour with traction control on should the car bog down ?...my car has only just started doing it and does it with traction control off, but it is less frequent .

Any feedback or advice would be appreciated......and I will promise I will never winge about heat shields and handbrakes again.

I had that same problem with my T and I complained to the dealer and they came up with heaps of excuse's what it could be..

What I did before I took it to them t was check all my fittings. And found allot of them were loose.. I think it helped it out for a bit but came back.. Pretty much 1-3 times I floored it.. it hesitated and spluttered along

Took it in for the 30k serveice.. A bit early mind you and in the end Ford just flashed the car and has been all good since.. This flash was about 3 months ago.. so not sure if there is an update flash or not..

Thanks for the advice, but excuse my ignorance...what is a flash (apart from what the locals do at St Kilda -Vic  every night) ?

Cheers

Flash = Reprogram your cars engine management computer brain. (ECU)

Ford have a program in place where they will re-flash your CPU at the next service to stop overboost

As previously mentioned, have all the pipes been clamped tight etc.
