--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

We'll said Turbo 6 and Mal, This forum is for fans of a car that's large, fast, handles we'll and looks dam good and is an AUSSIE creation, not an imported, small, unsafe sewing machine. does this Silva thing have ABS, Traction control, dual airbags, LSD, a chassis that's up to Aust Std 2002, and air conditioning that works, comfort for 5 people, can tow a boat in 40degc. I know which car I would travel Melb to Darwin in and it aint no SILVA. There are quite a few modded and stock cars imported and not imported that will blow away xr6t, so f!@#$n what.

just to point sum stuff out, they are not unsafe, yes it has ABS, LSD, the chassis is world class, air con works fine, comfort for 2 people, lol, now as I have pointed out, both cars have totaly different views of performance and the what they are designed for

all I came on here for was to "discuss" these diffrences, im sorry if I got a bit carried away, but im not gunna just sit here and take someone saying that sils/180s are slow, ill settle down now, and a dyno/drag day at the strip would be a good idea, for both types to get to know everyone, have a bbq, just have a fun day and have some racing in the mix, so lets all try and be friends ok fellas

Im actually a bit over this post myself. Their is alot of factors into buying a car, and the XR6T met most of our members needs exactly.

I am sure most members did not buy it to race little cars. We wanted the comfort, the ability to carry extra people, reliability, safety all the stuff the cheaper imports just dont have.

If i really wanted a car to beat others, I would have bought a 12 second rotary or something else for $5,000 and invested the other $50,000 on modifying it, which is what most "ricers" do. I know I used to be one.. had a $55,000 mirage.. Realistically thought you get what you pay for, and speed isnt the only factor..

Meet me on a race track when i get my Herrod mods done. Ill show you who is boss in car double the weight of yours.. B)

Yep, well said Chris.

Whats the point? If l wanted speed and nothing other than speed, $50k on a LJ Torana running a 454 chev would have been a better buy

I thought this my #### is bigger than your #### was reserved for kids and really has no place on a forum like ours.

I enjoy my car for what it is - it's faster than some and slower than others - no biggie. It's all about style and the XR6T has that in abundance.....

dvates69, auto v man. has been an ongoing debate without any real facts yet, and I drive an auto out of preference, but the fact that you loose nothing during the change, the torgue curve is as flat as the Nullabour and the auto change is super quick, I reckon the auto may end up having the edge over the manual.

Also, I would be curious as to how much heavier the manual will become as the clutch plate wears and the pressure plate finger angle changes. A fair bit I would think.

Geez you guys really blew it up didn't you? It was just a simple lay down of a challenge and you got narky.

Pity, could of been a good day for all. We don't have an attitude problem against ford drivers, there is a respect for a real good car cuz it is one. Was simply a request for a good day but hey who cares. Please by all means ban me if it helps you sleep at night knowing you don't have to think about the fact of possibly being beaten.

I have no trouble sleeping at night - Oh, allright I do, I admit it. Actually, to be honest most of the guys here DO have some trouble sleeping at night. Just ask their missus. And it's all because they just can't get enough of this .... just love driving these new beasts, all of the day and all of the night.
