I dunno how u could say an it would kill an unmodded one, a stock as a rock 2L Man Silvia/180 will reel of low 14's down the 1/4, which is fast for a stock car, what turbosixsilvia said is a good idea, instead of slogging out with words, lets do our stuff on the strip, neone willing??

Is there really any point.. I'm not interested in 180SX's, nor would I ever buy one. (not bagging the car, just not in the same class, just cause it has a turbo attached to the engine....seriously)

Show me a larger 4 door sedan that can tow my boat, and is a quick car at the same time, then lets talk

It's like saying I'll race someones speedboat with my 1100 fuel injected jetski, why bother?

I agree both cars have a differenent approach to the way they make there speed, one is light with power, one is heavy with more power, lol.

also why bother, that's easy, coz we can, me personally have raced only 1 xr6t and it was over by 2nd gear, how ever mine is modded heaps, but even if u guys arn't interested in dragging, u will, if u have the power u will use it sometime, everyone buys a car for different reasons

You rice boys don't seem to get the drift - are you all slooow or sumptin? The people on this forum are more interested in exchanging info and ideas than bragging - that's not to say we don't like to "have a go" occassionally heheheh.

I'm sure down the track when more people have sussed out the mods that can be done to the Fords we will see some very quick cars on the street and strip. It's very early days for us yet and we are all still on "L"s

We'll said Turbo 6 and Mal, This forum is for fans of a car that's large, fast, handles we'll and looks dam good and is an AUSSIE creation, not an imported, small, unsafe sewing machine. does this Silva thing have ABS, Traction control, dual airbags, LSD, a chassis that's up to Aust Std 2002, and air conditioning that works, comfort for 5 people, can tow a boat in 40degc. I know which car I would travel Melb to Darwin in and it aint no SILVA. There are quite a few modded and stock cars imported and not imported that will blow away xr6t, so f!@#$n what.

Right on mate.....XR6Turbo is what life is about. I have not been an avid, rabid, one eyed, biased car owner before, although have been a Fordman since 1970, am now but :bouncey: .

But this is the BEST car I have had the privelege to own. Not only does it take off like a 'scalded cat', great flat torque curve, handle like nothing I've had before and sticks to the road like sh!t to a blanket. AND to top it off is one horny looking babe and Aussie designed and made. B)

This is how bad the missus and I are, true story. Took her to Perth today to test drive a SX Celica, red, body kit, 17"ROH mags, looked nice (for a chic car), saw a Blueprint XR6 (T?) while in the Celica, both the missus and I went "Wow, Cor, Yesssssss!!!", the salesman thought we were both a 6pack short of a slab, until we explained our Silverhawk was at home (trading in the bloody Lazer!!), he then had this glazed eyed look and whistful smile on his dial, the first words out of his mouth was "how does it go?" Needless to say for the rest of the test drive we lauded the characteristics of the 'Bird'.

By the way we bought the Celica too (now I can have the Bird all to myself) :D :D

Having been driving current XR8's for the past number of years I have an intimate understanding of them and their ability. For all the rubbish that amateurs have heaped upon them, I know they are an incredibly competent car for a family car.

Having just got into an XR6T I had to remind myself that it was built by Ford, as it is much better than I have ever hoped for. It drove very much like my MY99 WRX and the high speed stability was a vast improvement over the AU XR8 220.

I agree that it is pointless talking chalk and cheese....the XR (6T or 8) are fantastic cars that can fit five adults comfortably, have a wide parts availability, provide a higher level of comfort and luggage room and perform extremely well and are reasonably priced. As a matter of fact they are much better value for money than my E320.

Little cars with little engines remind me of little man syndrome. They have to puff up their chests with steroids and run right on the threshold of reliability just to prove a point to other little boys. One would have to wonder why the little import cars are so cheap...maybe the novelty wore off quickly.

I'm sorry to offend any genuine forum poster with the vitriol however a good big one will ALWAYS beat a good little one.

I know what a 4200lb Dodge will do over a quarter (that's 2 tonne for the metric) and I certainly wouldn't be put off by a little import. If I get beaten....so what !! It would have to have had some serious work done to it, made out of tin foil, run on slicks and have a big fart can sticking out the back. American Muscle cars like Roadrunners, Super Bee's, Hemi 'Cuda's etc were all running 12.2's from the factory on Goodyear Polyglas tyres back in the late '60's.

Any talk of comparing apples with oranges is just bench racing.

I like the XR6T and I would prefer to talk XR6T/XR8 than compare Snivelling Slippia's, GT aaaargh's, etc

Again for the genuine posters, sorry about the vitriol
