I wonder why they made Doc sign a NDA on the "fix"

I hope its because they are not trying to gag him on the forums.

I just hope that all the F6 owners are happy with the fix and they remain ahppy for the rest of their F6 ownership.

Auto vs manual, blah blah blah - drive what you like best, just keep in mind that all the manual blokes think of the auto blokes as being soft. that's all  :crybaby:  No respect for auto drivers, because the car is doing all the hard work to make the good numbers, not the driver.

On topic - The auto F6 will arive with a very strong 6-speed, so I can't see the torque tagging being in affect to a great deal.

Much like the XR8 isn't torque tagged on the new T56 hence the 13.9 it can now pull...

:spoton:

Sorry, noticed the new emoticon so I thought I better see if it actually works.

On the other hand, word on the street is that you only buy a manual if you feel inadequate and that you have to continually prove your masculinity to yourself (because no one else really cares).

autos are quicker down the quarter...... am guessing the auto does not drop boost when shifting as the manual does :crybaby:

In an Standard T, the manuals DO NOT drop boost apart from coming off the gas pedal...If you keep the revs up during the change, you still keep boost.

In an Auto, the auto indicates to the ECU that it wants to change gears, then the ECU goes into "Retard" mode, similar to the Traction control program and drops horsepower BIG TIME so that the gear change can happen in the auto..

It must be the little bit of torque multiplication you get through the Torque convert for the first 10 metres that must tip the balance...

Dude, in stock form if you got an ideal launch the manual T will beat the auto by 0.1s over the quarter, otherwise the auto will pip the manual. Once you mod them this becomes more pronounced in favor of the auto, presumably coz the auto changes quicker than a human can.

Yeah, I guess once they are modified, everyone quotes their RWKW which would allow for the Auto Trans losses....

2 Modified T's with the same flywheel KW would probably tell a different story...

Now, now.... anyone can get in a car and plant their right foot....

Takes a little more co-ordination to use the left and right feet at the same time and make the left hand move in unison with your feet.

So lets see how fast an auto boy can get a manual T down the quarter....

Better still, lets see him heel-toe it into a corner....

Pfff….you make it sound like driving a manual is complicated.

Here’s a little challenge for a manual boy – try and match the ET down the quarter in a manual that an auto can do with the same rwkw. It’s simple really, I can’t see anyone changing manual gears as fast and efficient as an auto will do it for you; get over it.

You can’t beat a manual for handling when going through the twisty bits, but for day to day driving and straight line performance you’d have to have rocks in your head to think that just because you have a gear stick you’re the superior one!

Now come and give me a hug.
