Yeap I think it would be, as the current VZ Clubby does the 1/4 mile in 13.61.

Will be interesting reading in the next issue of Motor Magazine where they will test drive the Phoon again.

Oooh! I can't wait for that result! Crisso will be most unimpressed...! OK, he loves his new VZ Clubby (I've had a drive and can't say that I didn't like it!) but it'd still be great if the Typhoon pulled a faster 1/4 mile!

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

I don't think it will, but it will come bloody close! Even if it manages a 13.7 that is bad enough. Having a 4.0 Turbo right on your back door in your latest and greatest 6.0 V8, pretty sad really. Then there's the edit for the F6, and the Clubby is f*cked!

Hey guys, there's already been one warning. Keep this on topic or don't post. Next post about auto vs manual will see this one shut down ...

If you want to revive one of the 1001 threads on auto vs manual do a search and post it there.

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

you'll be disappointed as this months motor don't run any performance figures and very little on driving experience (the article centres around what changes have been made to fix the clutch problems). driving impressions were a little negative in regards to the f6 tornado , especially the rear end grip and whether it's worth the extra dollars over the xr6t.

I will gladly line up a hsv LS2.With or without edit.and low diff gears like most of the edit LS1 use to run there low mph runs.

The quickest one I witnessed was blown and managed a low 11 pass.

And like an Auto will keep up boost during a change....

The Auto is too busy dropping of the fuel and retarding the the timing to be worried about trying to keep boost up when it's in "power down - change gear"  aka Torque Tagging mode.

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

Wrong again I have a 3 speed auto in my car everytime I push up a gear the boost doesnt drop nor does anything else it keeps pulling away

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

Compare apples with apple mister 3-speed, stock auto vs manual. Try again please. I've done it before and I will do it again. And my boost guage doesn't drop off when I shift gears? Maybe I can drive... or maybe its a job for Mythbusters!

Unless someone can prove to me that the auto holds redline and dumps the next gear home, then it will get hosed by a manual, stock, stock, stock. I don't car about all the boosted jobies. That was never my argument. :wavey:

Drove a F6 and a GT mkII back to back on saturday and both 6 speed's and went there with the intention of getting back into a v8 but have to say the phoon is a very exciting and good allround package IMHO and I personally cant see how the GT gets anywere near it in performance if driven correctly

Like I said IMHO

I reckon you're right. It appears that post clutch fix the Typhoon has lost the torque tags that it previously had in first and second gear. Ford have as much as admitted that with the new stronger clutch set-up that there has been a recalibration of the ECU.

We are at last going to see stock Typhoons putting down the times we were all anticipating oh so long ago ... IMO the GTs will not get close until very far beyond any legal speeds we can do. You'll have to drive your GT all the way to the NT to catch a Typhoon ... :k24t::wavey:
