The dump pipe has it, I dont know why they didnt continue it all the way through.

Maybe this is old news.I'll have to have a look at what they actually did.......never bothered. Edited 10/07/05 10:13 AM by Power
Tee Member 29 Member For: 18y 8m 25d Posted 31/03/06 02:25 AM Share Posted 31/03/06 02:25 AM Just thought I'd share a warranty victory... I had that bl00dy annoying heat shield rattle under the car which made the thing sound like a jackhammer while it was warming up Went to the dealer for the first attempt, where they added 2 extra clamps - next morning I start the car to warm it up, the noise was not only still there, it was louder and had changed pitch! So took it back again for the second attempt where they were supposed to replace the whole exhaust section, but the wrong part was sent. So instead (as luck would have it) they put even more clamps around the heatshield. LOTS and LOTS of them, haha, spread all along the area where the shield wraps around the cat.Rattling has now disappeared! Now just the sweet sound of the engine purring in the mornings. Much better way to start the day Moral of the story: An extra 2 clamps is not enough, get em to go to town!

igsta Member 371 Member For: 21y 1m 7d Gender: Male Location: Sydney Posted 31/03/06 06:13 AM Share Posted 31/03/06 06:13 AM I had clamps all the way on my heat shields. Worked for a while. I ended up getting the sh*ts with it so I took them all off except the one on the dump pipe. Problem fixed and no problems without them.

Guest Guests Posted 31/03/06 07:25 AM Share Posted 31/03/06 07:25 AM If I want the rattle to happen I just turn on the air con or rev it. I think mines a blown CAT but and not a heat sheld, so much for Herrod quality.
