hi got a ba xrt sedan, just wondering if anyone has removed the heat shield under the driver seat for the exhaust?

one exhaust place told me I could not remove as the cabin will heat up too much!

anyway would be good if I could get some ideas of what to do? I would love to take it off as it makes it sound like sh*t from when its sittin at the lights etc....

cheers chris.

its fine to remove it. they dont have them on aftermarket exhausts. I noticed a bit more heat around the footwell area in mine but nothing to be worried about.

Ford being the tight asses they are, wouldn't fit them for no reason.

Have heard if engine bay ones are removed bonnet paint will fade, why most aftermarket exhausts have mounts for them to be refitted.

Just like you could refit your factory ones to an aftermarket system if you wanted.

Just fix it, probably equal amount of work, and looks less dodgy if you want to sell down the track.

All mine on a BA are off and I havent noticed anything at all. Mine kept getting fixed then rattling again, drove me up the wall......ha ha.

BUT if you have a huge aftermarket exhaust could be a different story with heat etc.
