Handbrake Adjustment

21 month/30000klm service also included a new diff fitted under warranty.

Told the service manager the handbrake needed adjustment and he did say something above it would need it because of the new diff being fitted. I don't if this is correct or not but I received a $37-50 charge itemised on the account above the 30000km service charge. Looking through the service manual schedule on page 48 under the heading 'Functional Checks' it does say about the handbrake. Just wondering if the check is free but the actual adjustment is a charge. Would appreciate any feedback on this situation.

"re-torque" is not covered by warranty, but they have to ask you b4 performing any works on the vehicle. If they didn't ask if you wanted the handbrake doing, they can't charge you... If u told them initially it needed doing and to do it, they can, but if it's in the manual I can't see how it's possible to charge it out???

the fact they have to disconnect the handbrake when removing the diff ( I assume it's like just about every other handbrake setup?? ) seems weird to bill u......
