Bought that number down to 10 after a couple of visits I take my new car to them for servicing and little bits and pieces even though it's all the way on the other side of Canberra from me. I haven't been to John Mcgrath, but out of the two Gregory's dealers, Mitchell is by far the best service centre. They now have a WDS too!!<{POST_SNAPBACK}>Agreed on the team at Gregories Mitchell. I've always managed to get either a fix or progress towards a fix. Yes there's been a few hurdles along the way but nothing like the three attempts Braddon tried and failed to achieve anything.Overall thumbs up for the Mitchell team, and if you go past you'll probably see my very gutted Blueprint in the workshop.....A. I'm not a Ford-guy or Holden-guy. But he never has anything to complain about with it, it just starts and goes like it should each and every day; and he really boots it around sometimes (I treat my car with a lot of due care!).Is there a decent service department near Canberra? I don't know of one within the borders. I may need to drive out to Sydney one day maybe.<{POST_SNAPBACK}>I don't know what dealer in Canberra you have been using - have you tried MS700's place of employ? They were doing a good job of working through Cro's problems with his previous T - and there were plenty of 'em!<{POST_SNAPBACK}>Do you know who MS700 works for? Perhaps PM the details if we cannot say in the thread.<{POST_SNAPBACK}>Mitchell is by far the best service centre. They now have a WDS too!!<{POST_SNAPBACK}>In our case, its actually a PDS, not a WDS.HAD a PDS.... Some UTTER B@STARD broke into our servide department last week, and stole 2 digital camera's, two cash boxes with $7.30 total in them, and a $8000 PDS system man I am going to miss that thing... we are currently in the joyful process of going through insurance... should have another PDS "shortly" ......maybe in 2 weeks! I'd hate it too if I were you!! Sounds like the service department suck big time. I know there would be lucky to be one T owner that's ever had it back to Ford ecause of a problem. Mines had a few little things, and I know of a Ford Salesman that bought an XR6T that has had more/bigger problems than me.

The process I followed was to notify my local dealer to book it in for diagnosis and warranty work, then I rang Ford Service to advise them of my issue. They will assign you a person to keep track of your issues. I gave them the name of the dealer who I had taken the car to. Told them of the problem that I want rectified. They then do all the follow up work and keep you informed of progress and to make sure your happy.Worked for me twice now. Could'nt be happier. Both the dealer and Ford service have been great. I don't know what presurre the Ford service guy's put on the dealer but I suspect that knowing big brother is watching has more clout than an individual continually coming back with problems. my 2c worth, hope it helpsmacka

It hink you'll find its normal wear and tear.

My previous T had those problems and then some... so I truely know how you feel... Luckily my new t doesnt have any probs so far.You should not have to put up with any of it, and this is why you have a 3 year waranty... all of the iussues that you mention and that some people refer to as "normal wear and tear" is actually covered by warranty... Its the people that tell you to put up with it that dont have these problems, although theyd like you think that they do... and when they all of a sudden get 10 problems simultaneously... they jump up and down louder then any of us Hope you get it all sorted soon enough
PhantomACT Member 2 Member For: 20y 2m 7d Posted 29/04/05 10:10 PM Share Posted 29/04/05 10:10 PM I sympathise with your problem and the difficulty you have with dealers here in the ACT. I had the rattle noise on cold start for ages, I took it to Gregorys (both locations) they replaced the alternator first, pulled the head apart to check timing gear secondly and the third time they replaced my power steering pump. NOISE STILL THERE!!! I took the car to McGuiness Motors in Fyshwick, I heard the guys there are all Ex Ford dealer guru's. They opened the bonnet went and got a squiter bottle of lubricant and sprayed it on the Multi V belt and the problem went away!! I have since taken my T to these guys for Diagnoses then taken it to the dealer to tell them how to suck eggs!!!

Search these forums, you'll not find one winging thread from me about them. If you are lucky you might find a FYI post, detailing the event and the outcome for other members benfit - not a b**ch session cause I am a girl thread. And Jet? I don't think I have ever seen you post wingy b**chy posts about your problems either, just FYI threads for our benifit, not for you to get your bad day off your chest sort of thing. Less winging and b**ching and more informative posts please people!
Maxx Power Want E46 M3 Member 327 Member For: 22y 5d Location: Adelaide Posted 30/04/05 01:57 AM Share Posted 30/04/05 01:57 AM (edited) The thing here is you should not hate the car, you should hate the dealer. I got messed around with my car when it went in for waranty work to the trans. The said they fixed the issue and as soon as I drove out the yard it was back again! I was without the car for 4 days after that and made many trips backward and forward to the dealer.. I didn't hate the car, as it is freakin awesome to belt around in the hills and 1/4 mile, its the dealer who should cop the grief. I also kinda agree with rednut, try not to worry about other problems that don't drastically affect the car, remember you get what you pay for. Aussie cars are cheap and affordable for the performance you get - what do you expect? Audi build quality? raymondo Member 28 Member For: 19y 8m 7d Posted 30/04/05 02:00 AM Share Posted 30/04/05 02:00 AM HI to `don't want a T anymore'I purchased mine in 2003, and have only done 30,000 k's in mine.I cannot remember how many times it has been in the service dept, with simlar problems as yours.I have had brakes reshimed so many times I have forgot, they finally replaced them.My radaitor burst, died and was replaced. My handbrake has been readjusted too many times.Speed sensors (what ever they are) replaced.Computer thingy in motor replaced.I have had the rattling heat shields adjusted many many times but dealer says now they simply cannot fix and they will just continue to rattle. And my latest ball tearer is that when ever I stuff my foot on the gas after running in traffic the car will bog down, the jefferson ford people simply say this is the traction control comming on....which is untrue, but I have now given up worrying about it, BECAUSE AS LIKE YOU I AGREE THE CAR IS A LEMON...GOES WELL WHEN IT DOES BUT TOO MANY QUALITY ISSUES.I have given the car to my wife and she uses it to shuttle the kids around and I now use her more reliable VW golf. The car will have done 3 years soon and will unfortunately get replaced with a Holden....which I never wanted to do again....but hey Ford cannot fix these things !BUT WAIT, I have an idea...perhaps I could park my car next to yours and we could hire a mechanic and we could pick all the working parts from each car, and build one completely working one ?...then we could flip a coin as to who gets the good one !From an old ford fan having to go back to Expensive Daewoo next year!
