Installed it and what a difference! Throttle response is great now. Even the missus noticed the difference..

Our biggest drama was getting the bolt under the snorkel done up. Had to unattach the snorkel from the box and put it in place under the headlight then tighten the bolt through the opening in the box. Was pretty cramped with all the wiring etc. Once done up though the snorkel was pretty easy to snap back in place.

I was just wondering where to get a typhoon CAI from? My dealer gave me the story about VIN numbers and that you can't get them if you don't own a Typhoon. Obviously that's not the case because half the people here have one. I don't want the whole box, just the intake. Based in Sydney

Can't you just go to a Ford dealer and ask for the part? They don't need to know what you are driving.

The bit about vin numbers is crap. Do a search through the forums and you will find the part numbers. I used them the other day no hassles

I have a slightly different take on this.

I have just wrecked an EA CFI and the little fexible piece that hooks the air cleaner to the over-radiator snorkel looked a good size.

pulled the airbox out of the T and it JUST squezes in.

so I dummied it up, marked out on the airbox where the ea conduit wanted to fit aginst it, cut it out and volia. a sorta DIY CAI that looks like a factory piece from the outside.

Cool

The ea bit you used was it a part of an EA with the air filter on top of the motor.

did this mod today. dont have any tools so used a steak knife and a mini hacksaw. worked great. I found it easier to mate the F6 snorkle while the airbox was out, the lowered it in in 1 peice. used the measurements provided and worked perfect. but I think I got raped on the snorke, cost me $107

Hi all, am running an SS induction system of the big mouth variety. It has been on the car since new. Was thinking of leaving it on and adding XR8 CAI as a second CAI. Any thoughts on doing this...looking to maximise air and then adding Seimens injectors, bigger dump pipe and bigger cats. Opinions greatly appreciated.
