Well normally I would have said do it yourself its not that hard.

Just bug your dealer to do it for gods sake its not as if your putting in a phase 3 or anything :spoton:

Like you know I aint much of a hands on person.. The Air Filter change was hitting my limits :spoton:

If ford wont do it for me.. Ill probably just pass on the idea and let someone else purchase the snorkel..

Just haggle ford and really push them.

Tell them to not be tight wods and they should do it. It would be quite dissapointing on their behalf if they didnt...

cikas,

It can't be that hard mate! It would just be a metter of taking the bottom of your box out and cutting a hole in it to fit the new intake.

I have not seen the Typhoon intakes and am not sure how they attach to the box?

All you need is a small drill (cordless is fine), mark where you want the hole, draw the outline of the hole on the box. Then drill all the way around staying on the inside of the line with a 4mm drill-bit. Take the unwanted bit out and smooth the hole with some sand paper.

Have a look at my "Custom 2nd CAI" thread, that has some pics that might help you!

If you already have the filter, dont give up as this mod is great on the Turbos! :nono:

Here is a quick Pic

I think the hole will need to be a bit bigger than the one's ive seen before..

Pic supplied from diff post

By the looks of it, the ribs inside the air box hold the Typhoon intake in place. The bit of lip on the intake would sit on the outside of the box and the other section would sit snug in the hole you cut and leave about (~5mm) of the ribs so that you can put them in those holes to hold it all in place. I would also use silastic around that lip to hold it in secure.

I suggest you make a stencil on a peice of card board and get a nice snug fit, then use this on your air box to mark the hole and cut it. Just make sure to line the hole up with the ribs on the inside of your box!

I fitted my Typhoon snorkel myself last week.. it's not that hard.. I used a drill, a Dremel for cutting the hole, and a file.. it took about an hour.
