Apologies for my lack of knowledge in this field, but I need a little learning with regards to installing an edit and the ongoing maintenance of a vehicle with one fitted.

Scenario:

I get an edit installed and get it dyno tuned so its running tops. Then comes along the 12 month service which I have to get done at the dealership so they will tune it to the factory specs.

So where does that leave the tune of the edit? Do I have to get it tuned AGAIN with the edit 'specs'? Or will I simple plug the edit back in and its back to its A1 dyno tune spec again and I can forget about it for another 6 months?

Just need clarification on this somewhat basic arrangement.

Thanks!

The edit box stores your tunes in it. Best thing to do is store the stock tune and when you have to get it serviced download the stock maps and when you get it back download the tuned maps :)

OK thanks, but can this 'downloading' be done in my own garage?

Whats involved?

Yes, you can even pull over to the side of the road on your way home from the service. It's a simple task, don't even have to get out of the car, and takes about 3-4 mins of your time. You can change tunes as often as you like.

And you guys are positive that the Service people at ford can't pick it up?

Aren't we allowed to go for services to Ultra Tune etc, which also doesn't void warranty, I'm sure that those guys would never even pick up if a tune existed.

Think I would be speaking to the dealer Principal.........that is total BS.

and what will the removal of the centre muffler and k/n filter do to cause component failure, absolutely nothing :censored:

First they would have to prove that the modifications were the sole cause of the failure before they can void your warranty. I talked to the head techo at my dealer and he said there's no problem with mods and warranty as long as they can prove your mods werent the cause. He said they look at it on a case by case basis anyway.
