Al,

That SUCKS, I would be real p!ssed as well.

Tell them that IT IS WARRANTY and that they should pull their fingers out and fix it and say sorry for unproven accusations.

I think it is despicable that they have treated you this way. I would get onto the service manager and explain the situation. I am sure that some gimp is getting paid commission on hourly rate......cripes $100 :ermm: tell them they are F :bye: ing dreaming, even Ferrari is not THAT bad and they atleast know how to fix a car.

FORD YOUR DEALER SERVICE SUCKS :w00t2:

Big Al,

Totally unsatisfactory.

Time to have a stand-up with the sales manager or the salesman you purchased from or the service manager or the dealer principle if necessary.

Stay cool and continue to refute their claims.

Stick to your story that they are the only ones to have ever worked on the car.

Insist, insist and insist some more that it is a warranty problem.

Dont leave the dealership without them agreeing.

I understand its hard sometimes to be this firm in the face of people trained to in ways to offload on clients but you've got to give it a try.

Good luck.

That’s a bit of a pain in the proverbial Al – but I do have to agree with Macka, you’re too soft on the bastards. Try the softly-softly approach, then move on to the “run around like a mad man” methodology, and if that still doesn’t work tell them Mack is on his way!

Hope you get it sorted buddy

Trent.

Hi All

Latest update, been to the panel shop that repaired my front bumper 7 months ago. They didn't even take the headlights out let alone remove any earth straps. Got it in writing to back up my claim.

Rang the dealer where I bought the car (purchased from Brisbane dealer, serviced @ Gold Coast dealer), spoke to the service manager who listened to my story and said normally he would be inclined to agree with the other dealer only they had another car (with 15,000km on it) came in yesterday for the same problem.

Fault was an earth strap missing (left side, same as mine), apparently never been fitted with a bolt just like mine. They fixed it under warranty.

He is now going to investigate what's involved with the 'headlights on feature' to see what may be causing the fault there and then he'll ring my dealer and tell them what he finds and back up my story yet again.

So far I seem to be getting somewhere but what a frustration to have to do all this myself in the first place.

I will post any further news as it comes to hand.

Cheers

Big AL

Geez, I am amazed this is still happening. As soon as I saw the title to this thread, I knew what it was. The same thing happened to me, but mine was about 2 weeks after I'd bought the car over 2 years ago! Took a while to find it, but same issue.

Good to see you got some success with getting it fixed.
