It's funny you say that, I think a 2011 35 on race slicks would give them a fair run for there money.

A R35 is 20 odd seconds slower around Bathurst than a V8 Supercar.

Is that with race slicks Adam or street tyres? Considering they're under a fifth of the price that ain't bad.

Aside from the Nissan propaganda all the tests I've seen show the 911 to be quicker in every aspect over the GTR, and in all seriousness even though the Nissan is less than half the price neither are affordable cars

I do like the GTR, but I hate the horrible interior.

which ever manufacturer came on board, it would not be a road car, it would be a silhouette car like the current cars are, it would be heavily ruled to make the cars competitive against each other

No it wasn't. They say with slick and perfect conditions would save them about 5 seconds.

The price argument has no place here. V8 Supercars are race cars. Not production cars that anyone could buy.

You're all kidding yourself if you think any new manufacturer will have anything that resembles their road going car. Without serious rule changes all cars will still have to conform to project blueprint. Take a look at a VE V8 Supercar. It's completely different in body shape to the road car because it has to meet the design criteria of the category. And lets not even get into the differences under the body.
