All cause the collision detection stuff farked up..The yanks have it right though.. They don't rely on fancy detection equipment.. They have people in control rooms monitoring intersections/tunnels etc and they can manual redirect traffic if there is an accident..Might also explain why they are in so much debt.. I was in the city all day, I can tell you now imagine peak hour, but 100 times worse. and the traffic was all day! it didnt stop. never seen so many trucks and B doubles trying to make there way through! However some people really do think that their schedules are more important than every other bastards life..Been on a few road works sites in my time and we get alot of long haul heavy vehicles that just ignore signs or portable signals and assume just because it's a western road chances of encountering a car coming the other way are slim...Had one B-Double take out 5 cars waiting at a traffic controller only about 3 weeks ago because he ignored all the road works signs as he was in a 'hurry'..The way the world has gone is people will increase the risk taken disproportionately to the time saving.. Eg: they'll double or triple the amount of risks they take to cut 5-10% off the time of their daily commute..It's nuts.. 3 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
