Yep can negotiate market value.. Insurance companies are arseholes.. Good luck with getting your money back on it.. I'm curious though since the accident wasn't your fault could you take the other insurance company for the difference?

If they write it off the next challenge will be getting back more than I owe on the car, as its insured for market value.

There are 4 manual 2007 BFMKii sedans for sale at the moment. 20k, 22k, 22k, & 26k. Hopefully they go by this market value, as any of these values are fine, and not redbooks, who have it listed from $14-16k trade in, and 19-21k private.

Pretty much they will only give you Redbook's value, you can try squeezing them some but, there's no harm in trying, they'll most likely try paying you less cash and saying you keep the car, rather than pay you out in total...

They tried this on a mate saying his wreck was worth X amount, he said well you sell the wreck and give me the money cos I have no use for the wreck nor want it back I need the money to buy another car so I can get to / from work, not have some wreck blocking up my driveway looking an eyesore...
