Didn't see it in the budget. Not good

Economists have been fighting to get rid of it and for good reason. With the first home buyers grant, prices are on average $16,000 higher so this will actually save home buyers money.

The reason is, when the grant first came out, people used it to inflate the price of their homes and simply pocketed the extra cash. It did more to promote the pockets of sellers (including builders) than the buyers it was targeted at.

For example, if I was looking at a $500,000 house, the FHB allowed me to borrow another $40,000 so house prices simply moved up to accommodate. There was an article recently with that example and statistics since the FHB began to prove it when comparing with houses not eligible for the grant.

The end conclusion was that abolishing the FHB will only be a good thing for buyers as it will reduce prices and encourage higher levels of saving to achieve a deposit which gets you in the habit of repayments instead of relying on the government. For builders and sellers it will be a negative but seeing as it probably should never have been bought in in the first place, this was basically ignored.

Instead, the Government has replaced it with the First Home Savers Account. If you play your cards right, you will achieve a $4,000 'bonus' and can achieve a theoretically unlimited 'bonus' if you follow all the rules for enough years. In my opinion, this is a far superior way of assisting home buyers.

yer utes sit higher than xrs anyways. I can crawl under the ute atm, that's how high it is lawl.

still gotta do some measurements but .....dropping it about 30mm in front. 50-70 mm in the back. maybe more not 100% sure yet.

Should probably only do 50mm in the rear, any lower and you'd wanna add the extra leaf like Pazzo said, but they're already too stif in the rear!

Tell me more about this unlimited bonus.

I'm always up for a good scam when it comes along.
