Shy get a sedan mate, cheaper, more bitch seats, and you get more for your money buttrock.gif

A ute will get you more money back on resale though.

I chose a sedan over a ute the second time around because the utes aren't as refined. The NVH in the ute is terrible.

yeh I see where youre coming from but ill be getting the lux pack (19in rims, leather, premium sound, climate control), hardtop. theyre definites. ill see wat they can do with sensors/camera kit and go from there

Lux pack utes are rare as and you WILL pay top dollar for them, I said the same thing and just couldn't find one. Also pretty sure utes don't have reverse camera/sensors or side airbags to my knowledge.

A slammed ute with hardtop looks tuff as I just can't understand how they hold there value when the sedans are such a better deal. dontknow.gif

This is my experience when shopping as I was in the same boat as you. I could get a basic run of the mill ute for 35 or get a fully optioned Sedan (Leather, premo sound, reverse sensors, reverse camera, side airbags, climate control, 19 inch wheels) for 41k.

35k gets you a ute with sh*tty stereo, no hard cover, sh*tty wheels, pov basically.

dillz dillz dillz....its a ute mate, a tradies car. why would tradies want all that high tech crap. I sure as hell dont want any of it esp leather seats, sound, reverse sensors/camera...pfft air bags, climate? I always got the windows down and 19 inch rims to go over gutters and dodgy building sites driving over all sorts of crap. im spoilt enuff just to have an FG.lol.

Try rockin up to a building site in a G6, when I get out and put my high vis on.. The looks you get, lol. Better when you leave though 3gears.gif

Yeah they're a sweet perks but if I had my time again I wouldn't stress too much, sensors are worth there weight in gold but the camera is just for show.

You would be better of buying a cheap standard ute, getting one of these (better off a flat lid, they must do them to) some nice 20's and spendin the rest on power.

Just my 2c

yeh there was a thread I found..or maybe on ebay. flat top and had a pic with 3 people standing on it, guaranteed to hold weight lol. not that id test it. but I do have a soft spot for the single power bulge lid :buttrock: who needs to look out the rear view when ull be infront of everyone :stirthepot: ..down here in geelong anyway haha. and that's also something ill have to consider, what can I do and cant do under new car warranty so I dont f myself over. so power mods will be down the track. a stock turbo ute for now is more than enough and id be pleased as punch with it :icon_ford:

agree I never understand why the utes are always pricey. what are your choices...dont buy one? buy a great wall ute? most tradies love their Expensive Daewoo ss's and ford xr's. so you just suck it up and pay watever.

but agree with adam they do hold the value better :buttrock:

what do you do dillz? inspector?, better not be those safety dudes hahaha

I wanted a hard lid, but its freekin annoying for me when I carry more bulky stuff. im rockin no tarp atm...looks more :msm:

the only thing I can think of that will be a bitch if I take it, is a generator, but theres another apprentice with a ba xl ute and the boss has an xtrail as well :buttrock: they can take it lol :beerchug:

if u are one of the inspectors stay away from our sites :roflmbo:

Nah I'm not worksafe, lol

Shy here's the recipe for a hella tuff ute, in white obviously.

Hardtop (either one, I'd prefer flat), limo tint every piece of glass/plastic there is (headlights excluded obviously), slam it on it's arse (henz spec) then for a few extra bux before you get it tuned I'd loose the center muffler and intake cone thingo, maybe even throw on and XR8 intake for more noise. Rims if you want but not a necessity.

Cruise around like that for a while then when your ready and don't care about your warranty anymore, boost the sh*t out of it buttrock.gif
