Turbo Territory in the making

Link to Story

A GT-STYLE bonnet bulge will announce the arrival of the Ford Territory turbo. The pumped-up bonnet is essential because the turbocharged six-cylinder engine has a performance-boosting intercooler on top.

This will be interesting to see how well the intercooler works?

I'm not really that technical but doesn't the intercooler need the most amount of airflow possible to work at it's best? The bonnet doesn't even have a scoop on it like Subaru do on the WRX.

A front mount is alot more efficient. Pulsar GtiR's top mount was a flop. All cars with a top mount and chase more power always change to a front mount.

Is there insufficient room in the Territory to mount the intercooler in the conventional XR position, or is this just done for looks?

Being a SUV (although many wouldn't venture off the bitumen that often) a frount mount wouldn't make much sense at all - do a bit of off roadin' and she'd be clogged like a biatch.

Trent.
