Phoon Hoon

I have read a many posts bagging Ford and the T. Now it's hit the mainstream press. I want to know: would you buy a T again?

well its not my car so I can't say whether or not I'd buy it, but the build quality of these things are sh*t..

We've had about 25 warranty claims in 33,000km which is pretty dodgy I reckon.. Its a november 03 build so it was built 1 year after the release, they should have had the problems under control by then, they still don't have them under control now however. If it were me I wouldn't buy one again. :spoton:

I like the car but its more trouble than its worth. Its quick and I still reckon its one of the best looking aussie cars on the market. Still not enough though, the quality just isn't there. We've got an AUII and its perfect so I'm wondering what has gone wrong with the BA's QC!

53 and 1/2 thousand K later 20-30 service calls, always wanting you to pay for a loan vehicle...I am so sorry but I was under the misconception that if you spent 57,000 + dollars you would actually be looked after.....WRONG, got your cash, screw you, well screw ford...last new ford I ever buy.

No they should've had the bugs sorted before they released the model...not happy paying for loan cars to be a guinee pig.

not at 33 bucks a day.....go test your models b4 u release em.

Or supply free loaners for warranty issues fairs fair.

Sorry to seem put off but everything from bodgy alarm instal to stripped sump....battery died 2 weeks before 12 months causing alarm probs...warranty...NOT, :ermm:

I love the car but Ford service leaves alot to be desired.

They are an awesome car, but the new software and the impact it has on the car is very disappointing. Im on my second XR6T and because of thsi software issue (and that issue alone) I will seriously consider a nice 6 litre SS or similar as my next car.

With Expensive Daewoo upping the game by throwing 297kW on the table, and with the SS due to get power near that in October this year, I will find it very hard to choose a 3rd XR6T especially as it appears they will be wussy compared to what they were.

Pick up your game Ford. Its not too late to fix this problem. It is doing serious harm to your reputation - a reputation hard earned by the BA series cars.

I have had bad service, warranty issues and poor build quality, but what else can I buy for the price which will do 0-100 in 6 seconds transport my wife and 3 kids and our luggage in comfort and safety and tow a trailer or boat when necessary?

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

Soon for the price you will have lots of options available to you, as given a little bit more time Ford will slow the 0-100km time to closer to 7 seconds, and there are lots of things that will do this.

Sure the cars have good internal space, no question. Boot space, this is another matter. The boot is big, but a stupid shape, I can't get our pram in the boot without first removing 2 of the wheels. Luckily the pram manufacturers have thought ahead and put the wheels on a quick release mechanism, but it is still a pain in the backside, especially when it's raining.

Comfort and safety, can't argue with you here, they are good value.

The towing capacity of a manual MkI T is a joke (Not sure on the MKII capacity, hopefully it is more), basically you are limited to a 15-16 foot tinny, no late model ski boats behind manaual T's. I havn't checked, but given the clutch issues with the Phoon, I'm betting Ford won't let you tow your ski boat with these either.

I'm not a True Ford or Holen guy, but I know there are a couple of cars from the dark side that can satisfy all of these criteria, and as Motor Mag have shown, also kick the T to bits on performance.

Ford really need to look at these issues, take them seriously and move forward!

Lets hope they can, as only one person benefits from healthy product competition, and that is the end user! :spoton:

I would never buy another FORD till the day I die.I don't want to bore everyone with my situation cause it's all been heard before.I worked bloody hard to hand over 57.5k of my money to only find myself visiting the dealer 15 times in 12 months.

The excuses come from all directions before they even look at the car to find out what the problem is.I don't take too kindly to being treated as a lier by both Ford and the dealerships. The whole purpose of buying a brand new car is to avoid spending my time in a workshop with problems.

Your chances of getting a good example is not worth risking your hard earned money.DON'T DO IT.
