Yeh kayteem, my stock T made 195RwKw, so yours would be close to that I'd say. Let us know what it makes when it gets dynoed. I'd like to know before I get mine re-flashed.

I just got mine dynoed ( I have 2nd cai and centre mufler removed) and I got 199 rwkw..... Rednut got almost the same with just a 2nd cai... am keen to see what he gets with the new flash, especially with the xr8 cai.... his car got one of the better numbers on the dyno day with cai only mod.

If its any consolation, yesterday morning in the cold the ute was lighting the rears up in the dry midway through frist gear and bouncing off the limiter. Never used to do that. The boost is as explosive as ever even after the reflash. It was awesome :spoton:

Here's my dyno sheet, pretty smooth before the reflash.

I dropped my car in for a service today and asked about the "anti-overboost flash". The guy there was staright out, he'd read or heard about how turbo owners weren't happy and said he could understand, but he also explained it to me.

The flash does not go on all cars. It only goes on cars between a certain date, he wasn't sure what the dates were, but my August 03 was not affected. He said the works order that is pre-printed out when my car is brought in for service would be marked if it was to get the reflash.

He also said the reflash was because some vehicles were operating beyond the usual 6 pound of boost that the motor was designed to operate at, therefor affecting all other driveline components, and hence the reason why Ford was going to have to fix it, to stop it damaging the rest of the car. He also said that in severe cases it may cause damage to the engine as it was boosting beyond what the internals of the engine were designed to handle. I don't know if this is a load of horse-shi* or not.

So basically, it seems that there were a small number of cars that came out of the factory with better than normal performance, and Ford is bringing them into line with other vehicles.

So it would seem logical that some people have suffered power loss, others may have benefitted from a flash. Is it possible that the answer is so simple? (ie an unofficial recall)

sounds like crap to me....if only certain cars are affected (ie, the ones with too much power) then all cars should be getting a power drop... not a gain at all like rednut and a few others are claiming..... If this was the case, the article would be correct in saying that cars are losing power, and this would tend to back what the dealer says and what the article says...

This would mean the guys that are experiencing power gains like rednut are imagining it!!! You have to remeber that rednut already had a car that ran higher rwkw then normal, so judging by what your dealer said he would have higher then stock boost. This would mean he would be up for the drop in power flash... yet he claims an increase??? I think your dealers explanation was crap, and rednuts car is an example of this.

someones not telling the truth somewhere??

Here's my dyno after the PCM reflash. The car is totally stock. I'm no expert at dyno sheets, so I'll leave it up to you guys to comment. They said the power is within specification, I guess this will be the end of it from the Ford dealers perspective. I never doubted that it wasn't within specification, I complained that after the reflash the way the power is now delivered no longer gives that fun seat in the pants feeling.

Interestingly speaking to the dyno guy he said, you are not the first person who has compained about this.post-4479-1115785896_thumb.jpg
