cutsnake Member 122 Member For: 21y 1m 29d Posted 25/04/05 08:27 PM Share Posted 25/04/05 08:27 PM FORD should intruct its dealers NOT to use the word 'Recall' if it's not...During a very recent 60K service, my dealer service dept definately said that they will flash the car to fix the overboost recall.Interesting to see if the article has any affect on T sales (hey maybe it's all part of a big ploy to sell more XR8's.... )Cutsnake

Mine had the flash done to it and it still flys, not sure about others..<{POST_SNAPBACK}>Exactly, and because yours, and mine, and others also reported here, do NOT suffer from loss of power after being flashed, that means there is NO INTENTIONAL DETUNING being done by Ford. Something else may be causing problems is the cases where people are complaining, but I feel sure that if FORD meant to cut the power back, ALL cars would lose power after being flashed to the lastest firmware. Dagabond, MickI'm not sure what you are getting at. While you may have noted that there "was no offence intended for those having issues"....your comment suggests that we are now "nationally known as whingers.....and we all drive lemons". What do you base this on ?What would you have the people do that have had problems ? Is it wrong for them to raise their concerns ? I also believe that you have unfairly presumed to know what the perception of others will be.Let me state up front that I am happy with my Turbo and am not aware of any problems. But I also recognise that others may have legitimate issues that may need to be resolved by Ford. I do not believe them to be whingers....and I do not presume that the general public will think them to be whingers either. My opinion may be wrong....but it's just as possible, yours could be too. Posted 26/04/05 05:28 AM Share Posted 26/04/05 05:28 AM I won't pretend to know how everyone else will take the artical, but if I was a person looking at buying a car the artical would sure put a doubt in my mind about buying a T... (I'll be honest this forum also put doubt in my mind and yet I still brought it)But if I hadn't brought the T I wouldn't hold existing T owners as a bunch on whingers based on this artical (it was more anger at a companies handling of complaints and problems), and I would also take the artical with a grain of salt, also we all know how journos have been known to stretch the truth a little in articals in the past (not impling that has happened here)

It's all some dastardly plot.... It's as if they can't see the posts here saying that the power has not decreased on every XR6T that has been flashed, and given that you mainly hear from people with problems, not those without, then I tend to lean towards the opinion that MOST do not suffer any noticeable power loss....
