Something is really wrong with your quote. have you had 5 accidents in the last week? You'd have to with that quote and refusal on the exhaust. Just ring them again and get another operator.

Even do it on the website.

AAMI will cover most mods for the T at least until you start talking intercooler and above

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

Revised quote - AAMI $1396 (with exhaust)

Its apparently my post code - in reginol NSW the same post codes cover large areas - some good and some not so good. I guess there are some areas not so good in my post code.

NRMA - $1100 (with exhaust after I told them I would take out other insurance with them - they are cheaper than current mob so I may just do that).

Alliannz - will not touch it

Insurance broker - Too Hard Basket

:spoton::w00t2::w00t2:

GIO - $1600 (WITHOUT EXHAUST)!!!!!!

I'm 46 in canberra with a 5 month old BA XR8 insured with nrma.Costs $820 a year for $50,000, just put 18" wheels on - no change to policy, asked about CAI and any type of exhaust and they said no worries, no price change , just let us know  if and when you do it and they will update policy  :gooff:

That's Odd, the NRMA refused to insure my V8 after I had a Crow Stage 2 Cam fitted.

Refused point blank....

Sounds like NRMA is the go. You'll find that the Xr6 is only $100 less to insure than the XR6T so you are doing OK there.

I am with just car insurance... my turbo ute was $1200 per annum covered for unlimited modifications... I just changed my ute to a sedan and is now $1147 per annum covered for unlimited mods.... My post code screwed me over as well... If I lived 800 metres up road it would be under $1000 :gooff:

Seems that these two topics contradict each other as far as NRMA are concerned...

Not at all, I would still stand by NRMA as one of the cheapest insurers around.

BUT if you so much as hang a foxtail off your arial, your then classed as a hoon, and they will drop you like a bag of :pooh:

Just cars will insure anything or anyone, but at a price!

They were the only ones who would insure my 18yr old son in a WRX after losing his licence twice (DUI and Speeding), a must have, but $1000 just for 3rd party property. :gooff:

When I had my old BA XR8 I was 24 and the only insurance I could get was with Just Car for 4800! I got a Herrod Spacer and throttle body, SS induction and K&N pod and they then wanted nearly 5800 per annum. When researching quotes for my XR6 N/A most companys would still not insure me but Just cool cut thier price to a measly $3900 p/a. WOO HOO!

Anyhoo I got a quote from AAMI based on me turning 25 4 days before my expected delivery date of my XR6 and they quoted me $2200 still! I think it's due to where I live. With the flexi premium thing they offer where you can raise your excess to $2000, I cut my premium in half to $1100.
