New Poll posted. Would like your feedback on if you feel that FPV Typhoon owners should be compensated for this clutch issue. I know being a Typhoon owner myself and being given a GT to drive around in for the time being, i still feel that it isnt good enough. Especially after paying out that much extra over the XR6 Turbo. I could understand if it was some intermittent thing, but unfortunately for the majority of us Typhoon owners it renders the vehicle useless.

Though driving the GT is a nice alternative it is not what i paid for. If I wanted a GT i would have bought one. I want to be driving my own car and not someone elses (dealership vehicle or not).

Im interested in your feedback. I dont want to sound hard done by, but feel that FPV owes us just a tad bit extra..

Chris,

I would think that FPV should offer F6 owners a "FPV F6 pack" full of FPV goodies like watches, jacket, beenie, etc as they will make the owners happier ad also plug their brand. As there were only 80 F6's sold, it would not cost them much. The damage that this feiasco has caused to the resale may never be realised until you go to sell the car.

I just really hope that they have really fixed the problem and not just found some bandaid that will last 10k km.

So do I thats for sure. I already lost my cool yesterday with the dealership over them wanting the GT back and putting me into a focus.. though thankfully after my dummy spit i should be back in a GT today.

I would think that compensation of some sort is absolutely essential! It just ain't good enough and I can see why you're spitting chips Chris, I would be too. Best of luck with the fix and hopefully the FPV folk see sense and offer some sort of generous deal to keep the faithfull happy - something of real value too, not just a quick fix. Keep up 'em! :laughing:

Chris , I am with Zap , heaps of FPV gear etc , also some corporate packages to the V8 Supercars wouldn't hurt either. As for putting you in a Focus :laughing: grrrr.

I would have spat it large.

I understand your frustration. But I still voted No. This is a grey area.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but the solution offerred is as follows :

1. a full refund OR

2. swap to GT OR

3. a GT in the interim while the Typhoon clutch issue is rectified and to the new clutch spec.

Like people, businesses f&*k up all the time. Ford Motor Co seem to have taken it on the chin, albeit belatadly. For this reason, I believe the the above alternatives do form a reasonable offer.

If it were me, I would enjoy having a GT for a few weeks/months - and getting a real feel for it. Thrashing the crap out of it!

Now, I am guessing that the "piss off" factor is prevalent, probably due to:

1. Delay in Ford recongnising the clutch problem

2. Treatment by the Dealer in general

3. Having to get out of the GT into a Focus

4. Rather not deal with hassle.

5. Possible resale impact

The 5 points above are valid reasons to be frustrated with experience.

In a nutshell, Ford have certainly done themselves no favours by not appropriately supporting their customer's choice of solution offerred. I.e. no customer service and poor PR.

FPV are not obliged to pay any further compensation IMO. No doubt, FPV will risk losing future sales over this.

I'm sure that you have looked into your legal rights and assume Ford have you over a barrel so my comments may just be waffle.

Nevertheless for what it's worth imo the only level of compensation that is acceptable is a full refund plus interest backdated to the time of purchase.....you simply didn't get what you paid for.

Has anyone spoken to a solicitor re a pro - bono class action ? I'm sure there would be some hungry brief out there that would want to make a name for himself by taking on the might of FMC with the assistance of some 100yr old legal precedent.

I can totally understand why the loan of a GT does not make everything ok. Whilst it would be fun to thrash around in a +70k loaner I'm sure novelty would soon wear off.

A bit like getting married and then having your bride temporarily replaced by a blond with big t*ts. Sure it would be fun to play with but it is no substitute for the chosen one that you want to build a life with.

...........on second thoughts when you look at it that way what are you complaining about :laughing:

Funny you say about the full refund and swap to a GT. I have not seen any official documentation besides the one that said we would put you in a FPV Vehicle until this problem is rectified It is news to me regarding the full refund or swap to a GT.

Haha Steve i love your comparison.. to tell the truth I prefer the Typhoon over the GT any day. The main issue with the GT is the amount of bloody fuel it uses. Other then that its one mean looking vehicle!

Chris, I would have seriously considered having the clutch fixed myself and just sending FPV the invoice. You would have ended up with a better alternative probably.

Don't worry, I am still waiting (3 months) for two different salesman at two different dealships to call me to take my order for one. No-one wants to sell me an FPV.........

nah .... bad luck CJ ... nope .... you should have known .... :laughing:

glad I cancelled my order

what is fair and what will happen are unlikely to ever co-incide

it is starting to become unreasonable to expect a new car that actually works nowadays :laughing:

the clutch would come in handy though, especially for a manual car :spoton:
