this thing is impresssive.... I've spent the last 3 or more hours reading about CAIs on this forum and the manufacturers websites... this one, at $220 is definately the best Bang for buck...

looking at the pic it seems asthough it doesnt block as much air to the radiator as the SS inductions one..

theres so many to choose from... the lower typhoon one.. the hell pricey yella terra 600$ steel front corner mould one, the ss inductions one at 350.. an "air power systems" APS one for unknown price... and a saber performance front corner steel box style for 440... all crazy prices and money well spent on other stuff....

so yea... ill be getting the AWC quite soon.. lot less hassle than my previous plan to make something up out of 3.5inch silicone hose replacing the factory snorkle

I wonder if they could make this cold air but instead of running to the air box which leads to the cross over just reverse the exit point & have a pipe running to a pod filter just before the turbo.....

Just read a few topics on induction then the thought crossed my mind... wouldnt a smaller diameter intake, or pipe from the throttle body to the airbox (not too small) cause it to suck harder? and have less engine bay exposed hot air in the pipe waiting for the throttle to open.?

just a ridiculous thought of mine,, that bigger isnt necessarily better...

most of the CAIs ive read about recently all seem to source cold air from along the bottom of the bonnet lid, or behind the front bar.... What about rampods? is it a bad idea to have an exposed opening, maybe in the lower grille... to force the air in?

guess it makes little difference given that excess air would just hit the air filter and its sucked from there....

I just shot my own theory to hell I think... any thoughts?

Here's a test for you - Get a normal drinking straw and blow through it as hard as you can. Then get a Maccas straw and do the same. The Maccas straw is about twice the cross-sectional area of a standard straw, therefor letting more air through. (or letting the same amount through with less pressure drop). This is why, in the induction side of things, bigger is better

No real point to a rampod in a turbocharged engine

thanks for clearing that up... (no sarcasm)

just the uneducated ramblings of a curious dude on a budget...
