conrod #6 through the block, new long engine, ford wouldn't honour the warranty, even though the original factory setting was loaded prior it going back, $7449.95 supplied and fitted, how long do you think I should run it in for before editing again? Is there a fix for the traction control now? anyone tried it? It's good to be back on the road even if I am significantly poorer

So wheres the pictures???? seems like street tuner is right (read post 32).... sounds fishy and one of your post asks if the t/c issues have been rectified.... are you saying the t/c thingo got you caught out???

Street tuner... I think your right on the money :pinch:

My car has been to ford for a warrenty claim since I had the edit last week, it was regarding a plastic strip that has been peeling for a while.

I asked them deliberately while I was there to check the version of my ECU program to see that I have the latest flash. No worries he said.

60mins later, cars ready to go, your ECU is up to date I was told, nothing more said. Came home reflashed the 10psi back in and away we go. :crybaby:

If ford can pick up on he edit (assuming) then how can any1 advertise the box as stealth???

I believe the ECU can hold approximately the last 5 -6 signals, therefore in the event of a fatal collision the police will be looking for an ECU, kinda like the black box in a plane.

Flashed back and driven for 200 metres the new software will overwrite the last 5-6 signals. Engine failure = no chance to overwrite stored signals.

Laws are being formulated in some american states that ECU's become data loggers also therefore all actions and signals will be held for some time in the ECU before being overwritten. And I read somehere on this site about the new LAN for cars (CAN) with manufaturers being able to communicate with an ECU remotely within GSM phone area's ...

Will be great when our service manager can watch our latest ET's without leaving the dealership....

Ford had the car in bits for a month, if I'd gone into battle with them it would have depreciated by more than $7500 by the time I got it back. Anyhow it was edited, it did blow up, easy come easy go

fair enough... so they didnt pinpoint the edit... you just didnt want to battle... makes sense.
