If the turbo is rooted then its either a faulty turbo, something got sucked into it or you were running about 60psi!What sort of debree? What did you see under the bonnet? Detonation.... hmmm it may stuff your turbo if some bits of metal were to fly into it but FFS, how could you get it to ping THAT bad??? even with stock injectors there should be plenty of fuel. I would be asking the person who tuned it A LOT of questions. maybe they put way too much timing into it.

Sounds a lot like it. Loud bang, lots of oil and crap on the road, instant loss of oil pressure, have you stuck your head under the block to have a look? I would be checking the bottom of the block and sump around number 1 cylinder (Bottom front of motor) for starters as the engines that have failed tend to go there.)I hope it isn't but it sure sounds like it to me. If your engine has blown the good news is that there is a very fine mesh on the turbo oil feeds that will stop engine particles fouling the turbo so it should be ok.Good luck with it and let us know how you go. If they catch sight of this post and just so happen to be at the receiveing end of your warrenty claim, things could turn ugly for you. Better off waiting till you've got the car fixed before posting the story.Anyone remeber that twit in the US who wound the boost up on his EVO6? It went back, complete right-off. But he was intent on gettting it fixed under warrenty as a fault. But he made the mistake of posting on the the forums and one member rang the Mitsu dealers and gave them the heads up, needless to say he was regected by the dealers and had to front the repair all by himself, he was pissed to say the least. Funny as piss!<{POST_SNAPBACK}>Subaru Australia have also sent reps with cameras to 1/4 mile days and club days in Victoria (at least). They have noted down the regos of the WRX's there and taken photos, and then declined warrantee on them for engine/driveline/suspension issues saying they have been raced. Was in the papers a couple of years ago.
