Hey XXXR6T - how much you you charge to do these again?

Oh and the Mrs has a AU2 Fairmont Wagon, it has illuminated switches in it.....

Cheers

Michael.

DaKing: The LEDs are pretty small... surface mount type. If you have a steady hand and a decent soldering iron with variable temperature then I would recommend giving it a go. You need a tip which is about the same size as the pads you are soldering to (quick soldering tip!) There aren't any ICs to ruin in your way (unless you are REALLY bad at soldering) Have a look at the pictures and see what you think.

mook05: PM me for more details and questions :)

As for the AU switches, is anyone keen on letting me have a look at theirs? I dont have access to anyone's AU but if you are keen to come round and let me have a look at them it might be possible to light them up!

So do your switches light up already? If that's the case then it should be easy to swap the LEDs for a diff colour.

Matt,

I have sent you another PM. I have been waiting for you to get back to me when you had the parts available. I am as keen as mustard to get this done.

Cheers,

Greg.

Thanks to AUMATT, I now have illumination. All in 1 day turnaround. Great price and great service. I highly recommend Matt to provide this service to all Melbournians. It certainly helped that he lived less than a kilometer away. Look out for the other goodies Matt will have on offer soon. All I can say is why did it take me 2 years to get this done. Thanks again Matt.

Greg :crybaby:

that's a fantastic job you have done Steve. I have seen others use the 3mm leds but your looks realy neat.

I have looked as the RS Components site and found the resistors (421-8485) but which surface mount LED's would you recommend?

I didn't think there were any Blue in the 1206.

I have found Blue at the following link.

Have just heard back from cresteck, they only sell in amounts of 2000. But by buying 2000 you get them at 80 cents each.

They suggested trying one of their retailers, Farnell? I will look this up next.
