whoa - triple post JP! really trying to get the message across huh? lol

You can insure a half cage, but it almost doubles your insurance I think, make a couple of calls, I can't see a problem with it - Spiko's car had a full cage I think, the new owner of that was quoted insurance with it fitted, but he took it out

Actually I did not mean to triple post. I had all the details in a single post and then when I hit the submit button nothing happened. I hit it two more times and it posted three times. Hence I edited the three posts to clean it up a bit.

Does anyone know whether a half cage is street legal and can be insured?

If you can get it engineered with paperwork to prove, it can be both.

Is a half cage enough to satisfy the A.N.D.R.A requirement's for a sub 10 second car though?

All I want is a low 10 sec pass ... if I crack a 9 then I guess I will be banned!

It's all fun ... at the end of the day a 9sec street registered, daily driven XR6 can't be far away! There are many other cars going around with a lot more power than my daily driven taxi!!

Well, it was a quiet night out at WSID tonight - I got 8 runs in before they called it a night at around 9pm!

Anyway, dunno if it was the tyres, the driver or the air temps, but I just couldn't get the thing to launch right!

I ran a 13.4, 6 13.2's and the last run was 13.08 - the same as my PB!

as I said, not sure if this is the limit of the tyres I'm running (Maxxis) or it was just the night.

I expected to crack a 12 tonight, considering I'v got more power, and a much stronger midrange - oh well - try again when its a bit cooler!
