Take the buckled rods and the pistons into ford and give them to the salespeople there :|

May I ask how much your spending to get the forged H-beam rods / rod bolts, forged pistons, hardened crank done?

To tell you the honest truth, I can't even bring myself to say how much it is ! :gasthrower:

Check out the Nizpro site for details on costing, you'll see what I mean !!

Anyway, the engine is in for a full re-build with argo forged H-beam rods / rod bolts, forged pistons, hardened crank, etc, plus a full blueprint and extensive machine job. Nizpro are doing the work and the engine will be able to support 500 rwkW without problems. The aim is to take power to above 400 rwkW of nice streetable power.

Cheers

Robin.

What pistons are you going to get?

A word of cution from someone who have just done this.

Select your forged pistons carefully, as the piston 'slap' can be quite bad below 2000 rpm, despite the best efforts of the tuner, and tolerances being kept tight.

If you value a nice sounding engine as well as power, this would be worth some investigation.

Umm... that was about a year ago !!!!

The engine was done by Nizpro and is quite as a mouse, no slap etc. I've done over 20000 km since then and it's as good as the day it was assembled.

BTW at the recent HPF dyno day it made a comfortable 430 rwkW or so, so you could say I'm pretty happy with the outcome.

Cheers
