Adam,

There's a bit more to it.

Spiko uses the car a daily driver also, not a dedicated drag car, possibly why the hope of the 4-speed holding together.

No doubt Spiko is currently reviewing the situation.

The other problem/issue up here is that as soon as you break 11s you need a roll cage..... and no, we don't really want to move to Melbourne.

Brian

So he is hoping for a single 9 second pass and then say "yep, done that, don't want a cage"?

If so, then lmao.... He should use a G-tech or something to practice first :P:kissmy:

Spiko is a very experienced drag racer.

When does a full pass it'll be such that he wants to shatter whatever the record is at that time, and he's setting the car up to do it.

He is one very determined person, and I hope his patience is rewarded.

Brian

Oh for sure mate. I just can't wait to see it....

I hope he does get it the first run though, otherwise it would get mighty anoying having to travel around the country side to find a strip that will let him run without a cage, knowing full well what it is capable of....

I absolutely can't wait though...

The sound this thing will make on full song too....

Well guys

Truth is yes I did take it on street slicks to see how it would handle 19psi street tune and 460kw down the track.

Made two passes with no boost off the line and ran the best of 11.7@129.21mph.

This time was achieved with 2.2sec 60F and turning the tyres for more than half the track it was dangerous as the car was very hard to keep in the lane. There are witnesses for this.

Third pass I said stuff this and gave it 10psi at the launch it smashed the front oil pump drive the converter and the tailshaft.

Brian is right about the box this was expected but I would like to add that it was more than perfect for the street!

What now well. There's a special C4 being built as we speak for the car!

M&W Pro Drag ignition is being fitted.

Exhaust is completely changing.

And Nos is being fitted also.

Have not decided on the diff yet!

And yes I will be putting a cage in before I go out again.

So please be a little patient because all the above does take some time and$$$.

Gentleman I will not quit untill I have achieved 9 and 150mph.

Regards

Spiko

Well, if we have a little think about this, based on the info spiko has given us (I have no reason to doubt him), he said the car had wheelspin for half the track.

His mph would have suffered.

Wheelspin for 20 or 30 meters doesn't really affect your mph all that much, as we all know. But wheelspind for half the track would sap your mph like any other issue!

If he had grip for those particular passes, I would suggest that the trap speed would be roughly 135-136mph... A high 11 at 130mph just doesn't add up (even with a 2.2 60').

And good to see a rollcage going in, even if it is going to be a street car, good to see because it allows you to run more passes, safely.

Far out, I can't wait to hear what happens! Love it!

I was implying that a 129mph run is an orsm effort, especially at a comaritivly high et and goes to show how much HP he must have, even though it aint wound up yet.... Wheelspin helps his equation...
