Hey I know the xr6 turbo has a BOV as standard and when I gun it hard, I can hear a little of that “whistle fart” noise but I want it louder I’ve herd that with the standard Bosch BOV this can be done but you need to release the air into the atmosphere instead of back into the engine (as stock) has anyone done this how does it sound? Is it easy to do yourself? Can someone give us some instructions?

cheers

I've heard that if you mess around with the origanal BOV you will loose power :spoton:

Hahaha - that's funny, I have a stealth FX BOV and there is no way it affects power, that's like saying changing you tail lights affects power, totally unrealted.

I have the adjustable BOV, you can full vent of full plumb back or one of 14 combinations of both.

Basically, its loud with turky gobble, or its plain loud! Even with 5psi.

On full vent it bounces of fences and sounds like the gas is coming from the houses as you drive by - its piss funny.

I have min on 2 parts vent adn 12 parts plumb back, and its still loud, but not too loud.

BTW - they are piss easy to install and I did mine myself in about 20mins. You have to take the cross over off because the standard (sh*thouse) bosch plastuc BOV is attached here.

The photo quality is sh*thouse cause I used my PDA to take the shots.

Compare - Real BOV to sh*t plastic BOV

Cross-Over off, standard BOV off, 2x25mm hoses

Stealth FX in place of Plastic Bosch sh*t thing

Fully installed, its tight but it fits

Cost was $420 for the BOV, $35 for the two 25mm adaptors and $40 express post.

But rednut the bocsh sh*t thing still works fine even at 13psi I've found. If he is after a cheap way to go then he can use the standard valve.

Ah mate - have you stuck you finger inside the valve? Its terrible, the piston (if you can call it that, more like a thermostat!) wobbles around in side and is all loose.

I suppose it does the job, but its just so crude and sh*t! The GFB unit is much more impressive in operation. And I prefer to dump my hot charge air away from the intake, the last thing you need is more hot air in the intercooler LOL! I save it for track days though, on the street its practically plumb back.
