You will get lots of different thoughts and ideas on this and here are mine.

1) 2nd CAI and performance filter.

2) Remove center muffler

3) Get a custom tuned edit. At the same time get "Eugene" injectors and a high flow cat.

4) If its an auto have it strengthened and get a trans cooler fitted. If its manual, get an auto.

5) Bigger intercooler, bigger fuel pump.

6) have the engine strengthened. Billet rods and balanced and blueprinted.

7) Better intake plenum.

What are "Eugene" injectors?

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

Eugene is a member of the forum. He has sourced an injector from the USA which is 1cc smaller than the 968's and about 1/3 of the price. Another forum member has sourced connecting leads for these injectors and combined they are possibly the best option for upsizing the injectors.

One other thing to consider is that poeple like myself who live in WA experience about 4 very hot months months. I doubt that the standard cooler would be any good on a 30deg+ day with the air con on etc. I beleive that heat soak would be a pretty big problem?

Fair point with the WA weather, and humidity. :spoton:

IMHO, Qld cars should get the injectors and IC at the same time.

I've had the edit since late December, and it's only now that I'm starting to get some sort of consistency in power delivery.

The standard IC simply cannot handle the addition air in the warmer ambient temps.

I would guess so, I believe Ford fit one as part of the "big" tow pack...

They aren't very expensive. I think $200 should cover it. The bigger the better.

I bought a Davies Craig cooler for mine, it was $180 and comes with all the nuts and bolts, clamps and hoses. Although additional hoses may be needed. Any mechanic should be able to put it in, mine isnt in yet but will be getting placed horizontally under the intercooler, I will be moving the power steering cooler up near the top of the radiator and bypassing the pathetic stock effort of a trans cooler and running it through the after market job.

Forget Ford offering to help with the auto trans cooler - went down that track last week and got an almost perfect blank look :w00t2: So - aftermarket is the go.

Dazza - let us all know how the Davies Craig install goes.... with piccies if you can!

BTW - (asked this before but got no replies....) anyone had any auto strengthening / rebuild work done in Brisbane... any recommendations on who knows their stuff for the T auto?

As far as I know, its hard to find a place in Brissy that is willing to work on the BA 4spd, though Mal Woods (site sponsor) in Warwick is worth getting in touch with, or drop a PM to xlr8ed (jeff) from FIST he might be able to help you out.
