High Idle On Cold Start

Not sure if all edit users suffer this prob. but there are a number of us that experience high idle (<2500rpm), only for a couple of seconds on cold start up followed by 1500 rpm for say 20 sec before settling.

Just wondering if this has been rectified with the revised generic capa tunes or if it's being sorted when customed tuned?

I have the Herrod edit box and mine does the same on std and on the 10psi tune.

I took it into Rob and he made an adjustment to the pgm but it still hasn't made any difference. To be fair on Rob I havent folllowed up with him for a couple of months so I don't know if their is a later fix ??

I have the same occurrence. Upon cold start, the rpm's are between 2000rpm and 2500rpm for approx. 3 seconds. It then settles from there.

I re-flashed the Ford factory tune back in to see how high rpm gets upon a cold start with the stock tune. Not as many revs - peaks between 1500rpm and 1800rpm for a few seconds and then drops back.

Would like to know if the higher revs are an issue with the modified pcm tune (and a cold motor)?

Cheers!

Mines basically same as above, starts and revs to ~2500 for 3 sec, then back to ~1500 for a fair while, before settling down when warm.

For the 1st couple minutes, it pretty much will push you up the road at 50km with no pedal effort. Not good when as I leave work and its a 40 Zone :w00t2:

And mine was Flashed & Custom Tuned Yesterday...

My BA XR6T is still standard and sometimes when I start the car and drive off, as I'm pushing the accelerator there seems to be some lag, anyone else experienced this?

Has everyone been happy with their stealth tune? I was thinking of getting it done also, after I get an exhaust & cold air intake.

I dont have the edit, but my XR started doing this after a ford service reflash. Hmmmm

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

ditto to that. mine idles around the 1200-1500 mark for about 3 seconds then slowly drops to normal.

I had a BAXR6 n/a and it would flare up to 2000rpm the same as above , after numerous visits to Mcgrath Ford in Canberra they kept telling me it's within spec's :spoton: The same thing they are telling me now that my BAXR8 auto can take anything up to 15 seconds to find reverse. What a load of :nono:
