I do like black and white for police cars. Why doesn't australia use these colours. And whats with the fluro yellow caps you see the cops wearing these days.

The flouro yellow caps were introduced by the Commissioner to make the short Police more visible. The NSW Police is inundated with short, fat, gutless men and women who are apparently very very bright (academically speaking)

Since height and weight restrictions were removed after I joined, there is no need (apparently) for Police to be physically strong or to have height/presence.

The academics that took this job over decided that physical strength was not required because if you took the time to understand why a criminal misbehaves you can then deal with him bu talking to him.

I still have yet to see that work at pub brawls..........

When a police officer is out of his vehicle issuing tickets etc working around a vehicle thoroughfare etc.... He must at all times be wearing a highly visible peice of apparel ( Flouro Vest etc.) .. Unfortunately they do not like wearing vests and some police officers that have apprehended workcover inspectors for speeding etc. have themselves copped a $500 fine for not following OH&S regulations and mandates... Nobody, even the police are exempt from parlimentary OH&S laws........ Hence the flouo hats.. To teach them to wear their vests when on or near the road...

Sorry Plonky..

But ya gotta wear ya vest mate.........

Blonk you crack me up, you really love to stir the pot. I heard that fluro vest with the safety inspectors is a bit of a myth. But anyway the fluro caped police I have seen were in kings cross on the beat, gives the smack dealers a bit of chance to see them comming I think.

But blonk I have always wanted to catch a cop pulling me over without his vest so I could try the ill report you if u book me trick.

The flouro vest is only to be worn when you are doing STATIONARY crap like sationary RBT etc

It is not worn when you are stopping are car for the purpose of 'anything'

Workcover and all the other 'Nanny' oversighters can say what they want...Police are the ONLY ones that have to balance visibility against Officer Survival (such as being shot/stabbed/assaulted etc) things that normal workers are not subject to.

Quite frankly, in my opinion, the flouro vest and stuff can be jammed where the sun don;t shine....I've never worn a flouro vest when I have assaulted a house (dynamic building entry)

I would much prefer not to wear the flouro 'target'....that is best kept for road workers and the like......

PS we do have exemptions from wearing all that crap....

Hmmm, something I saw the other day interested me Plonky.

At the big overtaking carriageway near Cowper the was an SS HWP car parked where it takes a slight turn to the left (ie you couldn't see the car til your are on top of it) the HWP car was parked on a slight angle Nose towards the road.

What I thought was a bit sneaky/ingenious was the fact he had the REAR passenger door open and was crouching either behind the door or tucked right inside the cabin with the gun JUST over the top of the boot.

For all intents and purposes you couldn't see him. Now I don't know what your 'Parameters' BUT are you (driver) meant to see the vest? Because it did appear as though the HWPO was attempting to negate the 'Fluro Vest -> COPPER!' effect (like that helps you by then anyway)

Not that it worries me, I've had so many tockley knob drivers sit an inch off my arse and overtake at Warp Speed 12 that I wish they're was an entire battalion of HWP there at all times. Plus if you get done by a REAL police man (ie not a stinking f*cking camera), so be it.

Must admit I think the guy in the Citric Acid XR behind me mightn't have the same point of view! LOL! :crybaby:

Anyway, plonky, your take on the situation? :spoton:

But cant you see plonky, its better to understand why some mug has just kicked 4 teeth down your throat than to have the presence to repay the favour. Give every cop a tazer and open licence to use it.

I dunno plonky, I recon a lot of 7/11 attendants would strongly disagree with you on that one. :crybaby::spoton:
