Posted 12/04/05 01:08 AM Share Posted 12/04/05 01:08 AM Sorry guys, as inelloquent as Blonk may be, I think he has a point.1 The standard TC is NOT foolproof. I have managed to spin the T with it activated, wet road on an advanced driver training day.2. If wife / girlfriend ect are going to be driving the T can't you just upload the standard maps?3 This "Let's blame everyone else but me" attitude makes me sick. It's straight from the USA, haven't you heard of buyer beware? If you or wife hit a tree, you or wife should face up to your responsability.4. In the good Ole days, if Id fitted a crane cam to my skyline and the power came on in a rush at 3500 and I spun off into a tree could I sue crane? Nope. But they never told me the car would spin easier! Tough.dunno which way a lawsuit would go, but I think it'd be immoral and imature to try and sue. It's because of people who think that sueing is A-OK that I have to pay ~$400 per year to go hangliding!Face up to the facts, you modded it.Your responsable.Did anyone ask if the TC would still work prior to the edit? Didn't think so.... Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/16700-traction-control-dis-engaging/page/5/#findComment-241592 Share on other sites

The edit is a new product for the BA and will have some (although very few) unforeseen issues in the early stages. It's software, so a change can be made to the code to rectify teething issues.I'm sure it's being worked on and, once done, available to all. Guest Ian Steele Guests Posted 12/04/05 05:30 AM Share Posted 12/04/05 05:30 AM I think some have missed the point here, ETC can sometimes help, sometimes it can't, I wouldn't suggest that throwing a car into a corner without taking a half sensible line or consideration for surface or camber will be OK because you have ECT ( I have a friend who has an RX8 who use the technique, he will bin it). Next you'll be saying we should turn off the ABS and go back to a live rear axle Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/16700-traction-control-dis-engaging/page/5/#findComment-241658 Share on other sites

Daz and SixFanI hear what you guys are saying but we aren't buying an edit that can dis-engage ETC when it feels like it got a button on the dash that will do that when I'm ready for it with the edit the ETC "may" reset everytime you turn the car off... and cut out on the road when "IT" sees fit ... I'll pass on that one the point in this thread is really being missed Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/16700-traction-control-dis-engaging/page/5/#findComment-241682 Share on other sites

Next you'll be saying we should turn off the ABS and go back to a live rear axleNow, now, there is a lot to be said for turning the ABS off, especially on Dirt. It increases stopping distances on gravel and dirt by a huge amount. There is also a lot of ryhme and reason why we should be running live rear axles too (Loading moments and Physics speak volumes), otherwise the V8 Supercars would all be IRS and they aint.. "by the way, the ETC on your car is going to mental and have a mind of its own after you get the edit .... she'll be right mate ... no problems"ps ... I always use that ETC button just after starting up hope reliable and predictable ETC returns soon Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/16700-traction-control-dis-engaging/page/5/#findComment-241972 Share on other sites
