But that's why I bought a car WITH traction control. I dont remember anyone telling me when I bought the Edit " Hey, here's more power, and by the way, you now don't have traction control".

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

That's a fair point. I don't remember in any of the edit hype that the TC would no longer function. However ST has mentioned that it is being looked at, so time will tell.

Get over it... Ya got a $50K car....... Goes like a 80K+ car..

And its built like a $15k Korean sh*tbox! But what does that have to do with this thread?

TC OFF - Learn how to drive....

Blonk ... are you getting paid to say that sort of crap ??

TC came with the car and is needed.

if TC is knocked out be an "edit" that is unacceptable.... lets hope the fix won't be too long and that cars with that edit are driven safely

Blonk, you are a blonk. No one is saying they cant handle the power, or drive with sense. We are making a statement that the Edit f*cked it, and the Edit has the capabilty to unfcuk it, so that should be the aim. This is not a dig at Ford, as their system works.

Its a comment to CAPA/SCT, that an issue needs rectifying if at all possible. :spoton:

Stop being a hero. If you want traction control off, you can either ask for it in the Edit, or press the button :)

Me, I paid for it, and expect it to work at least somewhat

Poor old Henry would be turnin' in his grave..........

Get over it... Ya got a $50K car....... Goes like a 80K+ car..

Value for money????

I thinkum so..

If TC disables.... Drive more proficiently ...

An accelerated dynamite silicon chip is not you momma......... And doesn't give a shat if you die...

Use the mass thing sitting above your neck...

Looks bad when it is opened but does a bloody good job of self preservation... Somebody once called it common sense, most people are common and most don't have sense......

Do the maths...

You cannot expect a major engineering company to save your ass if you push thier product beyond it's boundaries.............

TC OFF - Learn how to drive....

I learned to drive as a kid in Scandinavia, in winter, on ice. I think I have the slippery conditions side of car control fairly much sorted.

That is not the point of this thread though, is it?

Just looking forward to the software change which will resolve the issue.

I agree, if normal use of an edited car results in it being disabled as it cant cope, it should be made clear to edit buyers prior to purchasing. It is a lawsuit waiting to happen.

Effectively a fault has been found with the edit product. For a multitude of reasons it needs to be fixed.

One thing of concern is this: existing edit owners will, I believe, have to get a whole new tune once the fix is found. This is not good. It is likely that the fix will be a change in the edit code. The problem is that the edit code that is uploaded to people's cars after a tune is unique. It will nto be easy to simply download it to a PC, modify it and then upload it to the car again. It technically CAN be done (involves some clever hex editing and byte patching) but I dont know if SCT will have the skills to do that.

What I think is more likely is that people with standard edit software will be able to quite easily have their standard software upgraded. But people with custom tunes have unique software so its likely the suggested fix will be to go have another custom tune where they start from scratch but this time they start from a version with the TC fix in it.

Not good. And not really acceptable. I believe all people should get the fix ideally for free, or at most a nominal $50 charge to cover the time needed to upload/mod the software files.

I bought a CAPA flash edit yesterday for my XR6T Auto, same issue, traction control only effective with a limited amount of power then turns itself off all together. That aside the power increase on a standard car with original exhaust is very impressive. I agree, in an ideal world we could all be 'expert' drivers and be a perfect judge of road conditions, but we're not and ETC saves many insurance claims and quite a few lives. I've been told by KPM Adelaide that SCT in the U.S. will fix this problem in the next week and the upgrade will be FOC
