Traction Control Dis-engaging

I have had the 10psi tune (CAPA) put on my new Mk2. Since this has been done, Traction control dis-engages when wheels slip in rain. Does not do this on standard Ford tune. I have heard of similar cases. Remember, car is new, and fine on standard tune. Everything else is great regarding power, but the car has become quite dangerous in the rain. Why is this happening?

Regards

Mick

It occurs because the vehicle generates a P2105 error condition, and does a forced ETC traction control shutdown. It considers that when trying to control the wheelspin that there is too much wheel slip (it considers there is something wrong with the ETC system) and shuts it off. At the moment a fix for this is currently being tested.

.... but who would be responsible if there is an accident caused due to this "error condition" ??

or worse still ... what if someone died ??

Funny how with the xede I used to have and the rdp system I have now 285 rwhw's the traction control still works the way ford had it set no.

I the dry or the wet.

I would suggest the same person that decided to modify the car to produce an extra 40+rwkw!

Because you vehicle still has full torque reduction in place. Hence it wont generate the power to overcome the traction system

That's an alarmest statement.

Keep it in perspective; it's nowhere near as bad as having your car stall in the middle of a roadabout, or rapid overtaking at 130kph and your car going into limp mode, with a semi-trailer coming towards you.

As for stalling, I don't think Ford accept any responsibility.

I definitely do accept that you need TC working in a powerful rwd.

Pffft come on, So is it in writting that the edit tune makes the traction control no work. dangerous in the rain I would think...

I believe ford too should be responsible if your car stalled and caused a accident, its unbelievable how they can get away with that considering its such a wide spread fault. I was a fortunate one that got a car that didnt stall.

Ours went into limp mode going up a hill in traffic doing 70kmh the other day.. Its frustrating seeing as though it is only about 300km since its 30,000km service..
