IVE had my ute for about 2 week now, and loving it. The standard power is good beacause I use to drive a honda euro. My first mod I think I will do is CAI.

Would you guys recommend this ? and where is the best place is Brissy to have fitted and what brand to go with ?

Is ss inductions ok?

What price should I pay fitted?

thanks

Yeah there is heaps of stuff on here about CAI's but most people will tell you to cut a hole in the airbox, attach a xr8 snorkel to it with a pipe connector from bunnings and stick it under your headlight, cost ya $60-$70 and give you better gains than the $300+ SS inductions job.

I spoke to a guy today who does the Edit etc... he said that alot of places are actually taking the SS Inductions CAI off, because they are not working as well as the $50 Bunnings home made one... They were actually seeing more of a gain with the standard snorkel and the home made 2nd CAI!!

Exactly what turb06 said!

yeah do the home install cai pretty simple and doesnt cost much and make sure you get your self a good filter when you do it and it will help airflow even more.

Oh yeah welcome to the forums and enjoy your ride, might see you on a brissie cruise some time

The guys are correct, the SS Indutions CAI is crap on the XR6T. A second CAI is a much more efficient and cheaper alternative.

HERE is a link to my first one. The pics don't work (it's an old thread). I didn't use the XR8 snorkle but it's just as good with or without it. Its personal preference.

I did fit a SS inductions type CAI, can I also add a second intake to take air from bumper ?

If the SS inductions one enters the airbox in the same spot as stock you can, you cut the hole in the front of the airbox.
