HI TO ALL

My wife and I have a baxr6tubro sedan and was impressed with the standed system but this was not enough for us as we had upgraded our last car so we took the standed system with the car and started to upgrade from there.

As stated before the head unit is not replacable so this is wired into our upgrade as the radio.

The upgrade is full 5.1 surround sound with centre speaker above a/c vents, six inch clarion splits in both front doors and rear parcel shelf in origanal locations with new surrounds made to display speakers, one ten inch sub on rhr side of boot, two clarion amps run the system with surround sound control unit and crossovers all mounted above spare wheel recess to allow full use of the boot.

One 6.5 inch fold away screen below a/c controls this also controls 6 disc cd stacker in boot,5.1 control panel also mounted above a/c vents contorls the sound system and 6 disc dvd stacker mounted in boot, system now really does sound like a home theartre.

Also have a 5 inch screen in each head rest.

I will post photos on site in the near future for people to see. As for the type of head unit ford uses I beleive it to be sony, but I am not sure.

Amps and all other add ons can be fitted using line convertors on the speaker wires to enable connection vie rca plugs these units are not to expensive and are easyly installed.

with the help of autobarn bundall I fitted all the stereo myself

l remember seeing a thread on the head unit a while ago, and l thought it may have been made by Sanyo? Could be wrong, have been before :)

Yes, I understand it is made by Sanyo, but it is custom for the BA. I'm told by 2 audio installers that its entirely different to aftermarket gear - very shallow and non-standard size, plugs etc.

Yes, you can use line converters, but many audiophiles don't like them because of the quality reductions and problems with interference.

Its really a question of different buyer preferences. You can produce very good results modifying the standard system. But to produce high quality you have to do a lot extra work over a normal DIN replacement system - and you are still limited by lack of line level inputs and outputs.

Not happy, Jan

in answer to sound qaulity we use the head unit as radio and extra cd unit though surround sound and there is no noticable diffrence to sound than our au1xr6 with full kenwood sound system including d/din head unit.

If auto installers think outside the sqaure and take a step back they will realize there are a lot of options and sound qaulity is not an issue when fitted properly.

We had the car at the recent Expensive Daewoo and Ford show in Brisbane and not only did it show what could be done,it attracted more attion than any other sound system at the show for its sound qaulity and clearness in all operating modes.

I willing to hope on installtion tips if any one needs them.

I am not a audio fitter by trade as I own my own mechanical repair buisness on the gold coast but the system in turbo xr6 is one of my hobbies and was done to prove it could be done successfuly.
