tupperware Member 113 Member For: 21y 10m 7d Location: South Brizzy Posted 27/03/05 12:46 PM Share Posted 27/03/05 12:46 PM I'm attempting to install a BMC filter. Simple I thought, but not so. The sealing ridge around the filter seems to be too thick. I'm unable to lock the top of the filter assy down without excessive force. I've aligned the locating tabs and square corner properly, but it's just too thick to fit properly.Anyone else have problems with their BMC, or am just a one off tosser? You do need to apply a lot of force, it is normal. Use a screwdriver to lever them on, saves skin that way.

Guest PSIXR6 Guests Posted 28/03/05 01:13 AM Share Posted 28/03/05 01:13 AM Yeah I had no trouble with mine, a KnN. that's until I reallized that it could only go one way. One of the corners has a more radius'd corner on it than the others, to make it fool proof
Guest Guests Posted 28/03/05 02:46 AM Share Posted 28/03/05 02:46 AM Last week I put a BMC panel filter into my xr8, had to force it down pretty hard as the others have described, but oh has it been worth it. You wouldn't believe how good my throttle response and low down torque have improved... from just an airfilter! I couldn't tell the difference before I made the 400km drive to geraldton this weekend, which must have given it the chance for the computer to adapt, but now it's like a different car.
