My race map with 328rwkw's has more timing and needs the booster to avoid detonation. I've never tried to run the race map without the booster, not prepared to take the risk. :o Geea. :oI wonder if around 310rwkw is the limit of power on xr6t without higher ron fuel...?Surely Spiro can tell you if that is the caseScotty

Problem is there seems to be a real issue with quality fuel in NSW at the moment. Mobil 8000, which I thought was good, appears to be less so than BP ultimate at the moment. Optimax is even worse. Detonation, from what I can see, is because the car is making over 310rwkw and its on suspect RON fuel.Btw, how's the surging edit program working for you? <{POST_SNAPBACK}>Dont be a dickhead tuna. Ive stated that ive only run at the track once. Do you product a credit and shut your mouth. You'll get more sales that way I mght be intersted in edit if not for the fact that the local tuner wants $1700 to tune the fuggen car and that does not include your crappy edit box Of course you can't blame him. Real time tuning is something edit doesn't do <{POST_SNAPBACK}>Yes and I will address it shorlty. Problem is there seems to be a real issue with quality fuel in NSW at the moment. Optimax is even worse.Steve,Do not drive if you are getting detonation, that is asking for trouble.Do you know you can also crack the alloy head though detonation, or cause damage that will surface at some future time. I have lost heads on previous turbo cars because of this, but these days it should be very easy to get your timing retarded to avoid the problem... unless there are other fuel delivery problems. Don't blame the fuel in Sydney... it can't all be bad.Get your car sorted out asap, otherwise it could be expensive rectification. Brian

It has only happened on 3 occasions all under extreme acceleration. I stopped driving hard instanlty each time. Having said that the car will be getting fixed shortly. I do however still believe there are fuel issues in sydeny that don't help the situation. Edited 29/03/05 12:23 AM by Cro

This would pull timing as soon as knock is detected. Always better safe then sorry.

As mentioned it only happened momentarily before I backed off the throttle on all 3 occasions. The car will be worked on this week to sort it all out
