Just had to say how impressed I am with the pollen filter, living in Darwin I have rarely switched the A/C off and it was beginning to get an odour about it. The air seems so much cleaner now and absolutely no odour. Even if I have to replace it every 6 months or so it's still worth it. I wasn't going to bother but I'm really glad I did.

Richdave, yes you just buy the pollen filter over the counter at your dealer. It just slips in behind the glovebox. Takes about 30 seconds......realy!!

the pollen filter is quite good at removing dust and the like to. Its a very easy thing to do and costs about $30 I think. The only thing is that it makes the heater/ac fan less powerfull through the vents as it is restricting the flow to filter it. maybe we need a K&N filter fitted!!! Its something you notice if you have had the car without the filter in, but you soon get used to it!

Yeah I fitted it myself yesterday, too easy. Must say though I didn't really notice the drop in air speed, but maybe a K&N isn't such a bad idea!!

Does it stop the exhaust fumes from the cars infront of you from comming into the cabin?

I heard it does, so its the main reason I am getting it.

Can't say I've noticed any fumes but the air speed is governed by road speed when its on fresh air, so I usually use recirc.

Something else too, even the standard filter should be cleaned fairly regularly. Mine gets used often, I'd done about 11000k's and it was pretty dirty when I put the new pollen filter in.
